    Petty chargers

Model building was a family hobby of ours... way back in the early 70's. First addition AMT's, Jo-Hans, MPC's. I don't have time (or patience) to build them now, so I collect the original dealership promo's - Mopar muscle car era.

1971 Bobby Allison Charger promo car - signed back in the day

Plum crazy color dusters, chargers, cuda's sell high because of the rare color. I've been collecting Mopar Promo's for years. If the Allison car is a great deal, it will sell. And if it sells, I doubt it will be a promo collector, it will be a Allison fan collecting a signature (which is...

Anyone ever made a replica of their own car?

Dealership promo's come assembled, available only from the dealership at the time the car was brand new. In other words, they are as old as the real car. That's why they are collectable and expensive. Kind of like your direct connection collection. You want a model kit.

Anyone ever made a replica of their own car?

Here is a fair market price on a nice example. 1973 Plymouth Duster Promotional Model Car | eBay Just be thankful you don't have a '69 coronet convertible, that might cost you 2000 bucks LOL

Anyone ever made a replica of their own car?

I have the factory dealership promo of the '73 Duster, but you wouldn't like the price. :) The price you saw was just for the bumper of the promo. I have been collecting the dealership promo's of the mopar muscle cars. Nice display case in my living room

Wife's Grandpa's Van added to collection....

My wife's Grandpa (passed a few years ago) occasionally put together a model back in his time. He put this old van kit from the early 70's together to look like the Van he bought new in the early 70's. It was sitting on a top shelf in the garage covered with Dust. I cleaned it, and re-glued...

    Winter... so... started buying

yeah, I don't have much time to build them anymore. I don't mind doing a little "rework" or "touch up". One thing that is critical to me is that the wheels roll. These are vintage kits I've been buying that are already assembled in years past. It's the way I want 'em. I do have a few...

    my new '72 Duster....

Well, when I was young, building models was a family hobby. We made the wheels roll, never using the plastic pins, but hangers for axles. Pen ink tubes for exhaust tips, etc etc. However, I don't have the time or patience to build the models anymore, so I collect the promos. Also, I like the...
