    TTI header woes

Never owned TTI headers. I have bought their head pipes for factory manifolds and the fitment was great. But what I really wanted to say was I called the tech support to order headers and basically got chewed out for what I wanted to do, or asking. The arrogance was off the chart. Basically...

57 Dodge truck body onto 2000 Durango chassis

Welcome to the site! Sounds like a fun project! I have no experience for you but there is a member here that I believe is doing something similar... maybe? But a Chevy truck body. j par Maybe along the way a few things might cross over from each of your projects.

Fuel Mileage on your Hemi swap?

I don't know in a A-body, but my son's Scat Pak 6.4/ZF 8 speed got 30 mpg on the road, averaged 27.5 mpg in the local area. I imagine if that drive train was in a A-body it would do even better.

5.7 vs 6.4 SRT build and swap

The 6.4 has a NET rating of 485 hp. What would that be Gross ? You wouldn't have far to go to get your 600.

Uncle Tony says Gen III hemi has inherent lifter lubrication problems. Agree?

My son's '04 Ram that he had was just under 240,*** and ran like new.

    550hp in a Gen 3 Hemi

WAIT.... 6.4 is already there. The rating of 485 is net. How you'd measure a LA on a dyno would be gross.... 550 gross for a 6.4 Scat motor should be easy

    160 vs 180 thermostat

True! Overdrives. A engine turning 2200 rpm's vs 1600 rpm's @ 60 mph. That's 36,000 more revolutions in 1 hr. Think of all the hours to get to 100,000 miles. Oils. Todays off the shelf oils are superior to yesterday oils (except for our flat tappet cams) As J par mentioned, FI vs Carbs...

Just curious, what is the average cost one could expect to pay on a cam/lifter replacement in a shop??? Not asking for your exact quotes, but ball park.... thanks

Is there a "magical year" that gets a guy past all the cam/lifter issues?

Uncle Tony says Gen III hemi has inherent lifter lubrication problems. Agree?

I watched the video when he posted it. I'll say what we know, and that is the 5.7 hemi has had substantial cam/lifter failure. Did UTG nail the issue?? Not sure, but it's the best explanation I've heard yet....

BluePrint Engines 392 Hemi Interest? Thoughts? Comments?

Fully understand this post, and I agree. But I'll also say there are many A-body owners that are fortunate enough to have an unlimited budget to play with their cars. I understand they may want to have something different than the common, always seen at the car shows, 408.

BluePrint Engines 392 Hemi Interest? Thoughts? Comments?

After this question maybe it will be moved to the magnum swap :D Means your doing magnum 408's, will you look into making a 200 dollar dual plane mag intake - idle to 6000 maybe??? 390.00 for a eddy air gap is brutal! Oh, about your question... LOL... I'm sure it would be out of my price...

Went on the Dyno today, basic 5.7L

354 horses AT THE WHEELS is nothing to sneeze at. And what's the E-body weigh? mid 12's is a nice ride when you get the "all around package" of a true street car. Well done!

    6.4 Hemi Ticking

this is interesting..... 100 yrs of manufacturing and can't give the reliability of a 40 year old 318. It's sad is what it really is. I've not bought, nor I don't know if I would be interested in the Gen III hemi. I had an old say'n that if it ends in 7, stay away from it. (2.7, 3.7, 4.7...
