Is it even worth trying to sell a 741 case??

In all my years I have never sold one!! Split many apart for ther sure grip but never sold a complete one. Not a for sale ad, just cleaning up and stumbling across my board of useless parts

Favorite Craigslist find ever! I wish I had the money! 1971 Scamp

well the grill can probably pull $600 to the right buyer, $900 for the body, $500 for the rear, $2000-ish is top dollar. if it were local i would offer $1500.

    Its not just craigslist

Sorry, but unless its a 340 these a body cars just aren't that collectible. 7k maybe for this exampe.

70 340 4-speed dart - talk me off the ledge

thanks for posting this, i am 99% sure this is the route i go. it will ensure the car is made drive-able. if i start with replacing rails, i have a feeling it will never get done. nearing the end of frame rail connectors and floor pans on my 66 dart, i know the frame caps would be a breeze to...

70 340 4-speed dart - talk me off the ledge

yeah, it sat nose down in a field for a while before i got a hold of it, its really just those parts of the front rails and the fire wall that are structural and really rotten. the rest of the car actual, although scary looking isnt that bad. i

70 340 4-speed dart - talk me off the ledge

ok, to update i have been clearing out the garage to make room to work on this, so pics from on the trailer will have to do for now, as you can see the drivers side is pretty roached. both look patch-able as the rot is limted to the lower portion of the front rails and the t-bar cross members...

70 340 4-speed dart - talk me off the ledge

Deep down i know you're both right, but i am going to resist sanity on this one until i get it on the lift. If it can be patched, it will get repaired...but to be clear will not be a restoration.

70 340 4-speed dart - talk me off the ledge

This is what i needed to hear. I will get pics when its up on the lift. To start i think patching the frame rails and floor and fire wall are mandatory...and to be honest part of the reason i wanted the car was to test my skills.

70 340 4-speed dart - talk me off the ledge

yeah, i know its got some good parts, which is why even though i paid relatively a lot for it, i know between what i would keep and what i could sell i would be ok. but parting it is not on the table right now.

70 340 4-speed dart - talk me off the ledge

i bought this dart with intentions to restore, or at least do the bare minimum to make it the ultimate beater. its a legit 340-4 speed and mostly complete, nicely optioned car but has serious rust issues. worst parts are the t-bar cross member and lower front frame rails, firewall is moth-eaten...

Seems like a good deal on E-bay

I have seen restored nom cars with 340 in 15k range. Makes these ebay type cars irrelevant. Unless you want to spend 25k when done to restore a 15k car.
