    Classic Auto Air update 3/28/2024

I might be able to use that bracket as a starting point and mod off set to work with original AC crank third groove. Thats a potential option.

    Classic Auto Air update 3/28/2024

That a good setup they gave you. I would have to hassle with Classic Auto Air to swap bracket setups, exchange it for the one they gave you. I would also have to chase down a '69 and back original two groove crank pulley which is not reproduced. '69 and back small block pulleys are red headed...

    Classic Auto Air update 3/28/2024

Yep, the original '69 crank to compressor belt has an idler on each side. I have the original idlers and an extra original AC mount bracket I can hack up if need be. So when I get to it in another two months or so will be looking to use a dedicate crank/compressor belt like '69 and back small...

    Classic Auto Air update 3/28/2024

The brackets they sold me the belt uses the PS pump groove in crank. So belt wraps around crank, compressor, PS pump. One long belt that reduces belt wrap around pulleys compared to the factory '69 AC setup which the Original Air kit is supposed to be catered too. Frequently confused with the...

    Classic Auto Air update 3/28/2024

Classic Auto Air doesn't make any of the compressor brackets themselves. They source the brackets from BPE. Classic Auto Air is not gonna help with any belt alignment, belt squealing, or any other type of compressor install issues. Up to the installer to modify it to make it work.

  8. 340sFastback

Since my car is factory AC and under dash unit in excellent shape, nothing broken, nothing missing, I gonna restore under dash unit but go with Sanden compressor and parallel flow condenser. Got a Compressor Upgrade Kit from Original Air, which is a Classic Air company.

    Which AC/heat system and why?

Thanks for checking. Looks like what Nostalgiac Air sells: 1970 - 1982 318 340 360 Dodge Chrysler Compressor Bracket Only thing Classic Auto Air sells for '69 and back cast iron water pump is belt goes around crank, AC, and PS. Thats what they sent me but not able to find anyone who can say...

'69 340 Sanden with Bouchillon 4735 Bracket Kit

Yes, I hear you, its a mess given the '70 up and '69 earlier are different. Bouchillon does sell the kits segmented as so but I am not sure if that was always the case. Looking for someone that has actually used the 4735 bracket kit which Bouchillon says is for '69 and back small blocks.

'69 340 Sanden with Bouchillon 4735 Bracket Kit

That is for the '70 and up bracket belt setup. I am asking about '69 and back which is completely different and not related to '70 and up. I already seen that thread and it does not apply to the '69 and earlier cars. '70 and up diff belt routing, diff pulley setups, diff pulley offsets, diff...

'69 340 Sanden with Bouchillon 4735 Bracket Kit

NOTE: this question does not pertain to '70 up small blocks, I am asking about '69 and earlier. '70 and up and '69 and earlier have different water pumps, diff alternators, diff crank pulleys, diff belt routings, diff pulley offsets etc. In other words comments about so and so did this with a...

    Sanden Compressor Size Needed

Two types of Sanden, 508 and 709. 508 is 5 cylinders and 709 is 7 cylinders. Both can be had in compact form. 709 is supposed to be more efficient and pumps more volume. There are cheap chinese knock offs out there for lower price Sanden look a likes.

Classic Auto Air Belt alignment fix

The original compressor had a single belt that went from crank to compressor and nothing else. The Original Air kit for '69 and back small block is supposed to use one belt but a two groove pulley is on the Sanden compressor.
