    Engine stalls upon braking

It has been a while since I've had time to mess with this thing. Since it was down, I pulled the covers and set the valve lash for the first time in ten years. Not terrible, but they were due. It looks like the float level was not as "spot on" as I had thought. I have gotten the most improvement...

    Flip top fuel cap adapter

I'm trying to locate the FABO member who makes and sells the flip top fuel cap adapters. I can't find the thread and I don't know his user name. I thought it was FormulaSValiant, but the search came up empty. Anyone know?

    Engine stalls upon braking

There was no float baffle in the carb. Points have been replaced with a Pertronix set up. It's not flooding. Starts right up when I bump the key.

    Engine stalls upon braking

No booster. Manual brakes. Rusty, I tried a few different settings. Before I posted this thread, I thought the float was too low and starving for fuel. I readjusted it slightly higher, got the same result, then posted this thread. As per your suggestion, I took the carb off the engine, checked...

    Engine stalls upon braking

Float adjustment is spot on. Accelerator pump is set right and squirting as it should. I can let it take off on its own, get up to 15 mph or so and hit the brakes with no stalling in forward or reverse. If I hit the gas to take off and then hit the brake it stalls forward or reverse. The two...

    I will try that.

    Engine stalls upon braking

Yes automatic. Don't think it's the downshift. I will double check the float level.

    Engine stalls upon braking

Poly 318 with Carter BBD 2bbl in a '67 Fury. Car was running smoothly until a week ago. Ran fine at part throttle and cruise, but would idle really rough at a stop light. Took the carb apart, found some sediment in the fuel bowl, so I cleaned everything with carb cleaner and blew everything out...

    Which carb gasket for pcv?

I used the thick insulator gasket that was in the kit and it pulls strong vacuum from the pcv port now! So, was the gasket I had on there before for a non-pcv set up? I'll check those mixture screws. Thank you.

    Which carb gasket for pcv?

You can see where it is blocked off by the carb flange on the intake.

    Which carb gasket for pcv?

I noticed a lot of carbon build up in the vacuum port of the carb where the pcv hose hooks up. The carbon was inside the port at the base of the carb. I had the split style gasket on there before. (The one at the top of the first photo.) It looks like that gasket seals the pcv port to the intake...

New sending unit leaks at lock ring

Thanks for the replies and info. You've all given me some solid options to check out. I'll let you know how it turns out when I get it right.

New sending unit leaks at lock ring

Yeah, I still have it. I'll try the old ring, and if that doesn't work, I'll try bending the tabs.

New sending unit leaks at lock ring

Where would I get one? Can they be doubled up?

New sending unit leaks at lock ring

Just put a new fuel sending unit, gasket, and lock ring on my 67 Fury, and it leaks terribly at the lock ring. The ring is on as tight as it will go, and there is play in the sending unit when I grab the outlet tube and wiggle it. The gasket is sitting flush in its recess with no kinks or...
