I had the same problem on a 318 build. The leg that wraps under the steering arm was resting on the block and not sealing. I grinded a little of the back of the manifold to let it sit flush. It also seals up with double stacked gaskets.

I thought you were talking about the exit flange:)

You could just cut the flanges and use a v-band clamp.

Does anyone know if the 67-73 dual exhaust tailpipe will fit a 63 dart with dual exhaust? I'm mostly concerned if the over axle portion is correct since the for and aft can be extended or shortend as needed. thanks

You didn't say what headers. I would almost bet it will be easier from the bottom. Make sure you jack it up high enough to clear the headers from the floor. I would also remove as much as possible to help the install.

If its up on jack stands and your letting the wheels and axle hang down you might be able to "weasel" it in. I've never tried that though. I would remove the driveshaft too. Good luck.

If your not set on the fender headers for your 360 then I would suggest TTI headers that fit in the engine bay. I haven't used them yet but they have alot of support from everyone using them here. I am planning on ditching my spitfires this winter and going with the TTI for early A's. They are...

I would try a set of thick copper seal gaskets. Looks like you need something that is going to form to both flanges and seal it up. I think your gaskets are too thin.

I run the 90 degree adapter with spitfires. I had to turn it a little towards the torsion bar and go with a shorter filter. I undserstand that most header installs are not exactly the same. Just wanted to let you know that it was done on my 63 dart.

I don't know what zoomies are but that is one wicked setup. I really like the lope it has. Hope you get it on the road soon:)

JUST AN FYI- JCWhitney has some thick wall flex pipe that I used temporarily(almost a year) from my spitfire headers down through the torsion bars that held up very well until I could fab up the down pipes for it. I used it as an intermediate pipe to attatch the dual exhaust all the way back.

Got to love the early A. I do believe you will have to separate the steering from the box and loosen it from inside and pull it back up through from inside to get that drivers manifold out.

Anyone know where to get a exhaust kit for a 70 swinger with a smallblock v8? I want a dual exhaust system that bolts up to stock manifolds.

I finally did it!! I now have 2 1/2 inch off the headers almost straight back into magnaflow performance mufflers. Man what a nice little rumble. I still have to finish it up but it sure sounds better than the old econo turbo mufflers. I also learned that the cutout that calls for a 1.25 radius...

Why does he need a 4" exhaust? Is he running a single exhaust? If he went to a 3" he would have alot more options. How about reducing to 3" is that an option? If so try these : http://www.borla.com/proxs/pages/mufflers.php
