That top-down view in your second pic - the wagon light is about 1 1/2" deeper at the deepest part of the lens than the sedan is. They show up on ebay from time to time.

Get a measurement of how long it should be. It just occurred to me that I pulled it out of a '64 Dart station wagon. The Dart wagon is on the Valiant's shorter wheelbase (106" vs. Sedan/Coupe/Convertible's 111") - I suspect the driveshaft length may be different, but don't know for sure.

I've got a driveshaft with ball and trunnion setup from a '64 Dart - slant 6, 3 spd manual A903 - per this post, Slant Six Dan (Post #4) says it's the same length for manual or auto If you want it, it's yours for cost of shipping (and, anybody got recommendations on how to ship a driveshaft?)

That's what I thought, but then noticed that the sequence was - rev, wheel starts to turn, let off gas pedal, ticking starts...guess that could be centrifugal force in the wheel easing up, allowing the nut in the hubcap to fall away from being pinned to the hubcap...but seems like it would go...
