I thought the Holley street avenger was supposed to be a bolt on & go carb, so I talked my friend into letting me put one on his Ford 390. Mistake. Leaks, unadjusted floats, etc have made me regret the choice. Anyone else have issues with the street avenger?

I had a jeep with a carter 1 barrel that used to do that and after careful examination I found a small crack in the bottom of the float bowl. Not that that's your problem, but also if your gas has a lot of alcahol in it it will evaporate much quicker with a warm engine.

We've had ethanol blend here for years as well. Only problem is on warmer days it vapor locks big time.

Isn't the eagle stuff made over in China? The reason I ask is that even though everybody including myself uses thier rods and cranks, the workmanship is not as good as the USA made stuff. The first set of eagle SIR rods I bought were machined wrong and had rod bolts and nuts. they would not work...

You have to make sure that the fitting is for the hose you are using. If you can use some soft jaws in a vise it helps. I also lube the nut and the inside of the fitting threads with oil before assembly. Hope I am not telling you what you already know. They can be a PITA sometimes.

Now that I know I need a 750 carb for my 360 I have been looking at the Quick Fuel 750 and the Proform 750. How do these compare with the Holley HP carbs? They are cheaper but I don't want to buy one and find out they of poor quality.
