    Easy (?) OD Auto Install

The 999 I have came out of a 88 Chrysler 5th Ave. Hydraulic LU, locks up converter (light throttle) about 40-45mph in my car. Build like a 904 good for your combo. Dont know if or when the LU function changed to electronic? Have the LU converter built as well.

    Easy (?) OD Auto Install

Have a built LU 999 its an improvement over 904. LU feels direct like a manual trans. If your not all about drag race its great, engine with good torque 2.xx gears won't even notice any off line laziness. 200r? went thru 3 of them in my 87 Grand National (2 under warrenty) without to much trouble.

kickdown rod dilemma - throttle not opening fully SOLVED !!!

The trans will not shift firmly without enough throttle. Find a way to adjust the throttle linkage so the trans linkage is not stopping it to fully open. When the carb linkage fully open the trans linkage should be as far back as it can go. You may have to adjust or relocate the carb PIVOT point...

Sticky wheel weights come off, when first installed clean the wheel with alcohol where they are applied and put a mark around the weight area so if the weight(s) come off it can be easily seen.

    A999 as a street/strip trans.

I had a 998 built up with a performance TC and stayed with the lock up. Set up to shift at 5200. The unit you may have is hydraulic only operated lock up no electronics or solenoids involved. It locks up at about 40-45mph and works good, lowering rpms and has a real 1:1 feel to it like a 4spd. I...

A904: 1-2 shift happens early despite governor weight- any way to adjust this?

The rod from the carb should have an adjustment, if not try to locate one or fabricate out of treaded rod with a turnbuckle for adjustment. From my experience the lenght is a pretty fine adjustment, too long and the throttle may not be 100% back too short give early shifts. This setup is best...

A904: 1-2 shift happens early despite governor weight- any way to adjust this?

Try first to lengthen the trans shift linkage, It seem to affect the 1/2 or than the 2/3 shifts in my experience. Make sure the linkage is set up like original.

    transmission pan sealing

Fluid could be leaking down and collecting on the pan so it looks as if its the pan gasket. Try stuffing some rags around suspect areas above the pan. To keep dropping the pan and resealing is not working. Could try oil dye and UV light method also.

    Trans cooler line trouble

Its Ok,but use hard lines as much as possible. When joining hard to rubber try to flare the metal line to keep the rubber from slipping off. If you don't flare use 2 clamps on each connection. Make sure the lines are routed properly away from heat and moving parts, use the correct rubber lines...

    Dialing in Speedometer/Odometer

easy way is to go on mapquest and get the mileage between two local points nearby. Then drive it an see what your odometer says. calculate the error example, if you read 10 percent more than mapquest says you need a speedo gear with 10 percent more teeth, that would slow the cable down by that...
