I like the first title better.

    Welding a lower control arm

I hear those control arms are kind of expensive.

1969 Barracuda 383 convert to power steering?

Enough about dates, back to the original question at hand. Do you have pics of the power steering brackets? I think the unique mounting brackets are part of the equation as well.

1969 Barracuda 383 convert to power steering?

The fender tag on my car pictured in avatar has a date of June 13 on the fender tag. I have a check in record from dealership of June 22, 1968 that notates short one trunk key. Also very close to the end of 68 production.

1969 Barracuda 383 convert to power steering?

Murray - What is build date of your car, or casting date on engine block? Thinking of this myself on my 68; my car has an earlier build date of October 2.

    strut rod nut size

Not sure on thread size, but as far as the bushing washer goes, they should be cupped toward the bushing as yours are. That's how the 68 service manual shows them and that is how they are on my trailer queen. I think some aftermarket replacement bushings have the washer cupped the other way, I...

    Steering coupler assembly

Also, do a Google search on "Mopar Steering Shaft Coupling Clamp". I've put this on all my cars where I've had the coupling apart.

    Steering coupler assembly

Patience, and lots of it! They are a bear, especially if column is still in the car. I have had luck with a large channel lock pliers so you can "squeeze" tabs from each side at same time. Just a suggestion.

    widest tire with spring relocation

Are Barracuda wheel wells bigger than Darts? I have seen a 67 Barracuda with 275 60 15's with stock spring location. Assume it's all in getting the backspacing correct.

    Leaf spring ID please!

Thanks for trying/helping. Usually a person is golden with a part number; surprised these don't cross reference to something in the a-body world. Just be nice to know what I have before spending $$ on front and rear bushings. GTXperience - any planned trips back to your storage yet? Still...

    Leaf spring ID please!

Car was a shell so couldn't tell how it sat. Also had a 7 1/4 rearend but no idea if it was original to car. Bought as parts car so no VIN or fender tag. Mystery parts!

    Leaf spring ID please!

I took these off a 68 Barracuda parts car I purchased, and cannot cross reference the part number. They are 5 leaf, and both right and left have the identical markings and part number. I know the car was used for drag racing at some point, and had a big block as the inner fenders were cut for...

    Steering Coupler Retaining Clamp

Thanks for posting this link. Wasn't aware such an item existed; just bought three for current/future projects. I can't imagine anyone passing on an item like this if they have ever tried to get the seal cover to stay on the coupler.

    Rear suspension too stiff

Another question - are part numbers stamped on the leafs to determine exactly what I currently have? They are pretty clean so should be easy to spot, just wondering where to look to save time.

    Rear suspension too stiff

Thanks for all the responses. I'm sure the nuts are WAY over-torqued so I will try that first. I've been leaning towards the KYB shock option also as the QA1's are overkill for me. Fronts are Monroes so probably replacing all 4 as have no idea how old the fronts are. Will post when shock...

    Rear suspension too stiff

I just purchased a 68 Fastback, Formula S 383 4 speed car with what I assume are super stock leaf springs and QA1 shocks. Previous owner had homemade traction bars on it that were crap, so I put correct shock mounting plates back on. QA1's are adjusted maximum soft, but still rides like the...
