After you pull the trans check your pilot bushing real well. or for any burs on the input shaft. I had this problem with my Dart. Found the bushing split, dragging the input shaft. Also make sure input shaft is not just a little to long.

The only 833 I had trouble with was because the pilot bushing was shot. Someone else mentioned this also. I could not speed shift this thing at all, I tried every thing and found the bad bushing. Brent

I had some what of the same problem with my Dart. It was also very hard to speed shift. Kept missing a shift, found problem to be the pilot bushing had spun in the bore and cracked not letting the input shaft dissinguage. Just a shot in the dark and something to think about. 69 340 dart
