Got the Eddy heads back this morning .....they machine shop said they could see daylight thru the valve seat...they fixed the 4 exhaust valves and vacuum checked all the other and said everything was good......$135 dollars... They called last night and said the spring pressure was like 75 lbs...

Watch it too......but Good God,,,,they only go a week to fix it....Had to completely rewire the car....

GM HEI module on engine test stand

Did the final run on this engine today...got the inner springs back on.....adjusted valves again....fired up on the e85 on it... but this time I mounted a GM HEI module to the stand and wired in a MP Race Electronic Distributor....set it for 34 degrees.. need to back off rockers and wrap this...

Pulled a 750 DP E85 carb out of the closet.....got a can of E85 out of the trailer.....I had warmed the engine up with gas.....actually had gas in the e85 carb to begin with.... Ran just fine...Intake manifold really cool...adjusted the idle mixture screws ...3/4 turn on all 4 of them....this...

There were no barrier rail pass the finish line 1/8 mile....but there were spectators with vehicles park pass the finish line......No one should have been allowed without barrier rail protecting them.....

ok..it was the timing chain cover and not the head gasket... Got it fired up and timing set.....ran for 20 minutes....going to check valve lash after it cools off....going to lunch or nap time...lol had to buy some good gas for this thing....9 bucks a gallon...should have ran it on E85...

Front of motor all back together. Letting rtv cure overnight.

Nice thing about this expensive toy of mine...I can pull the radiator/fan off the stand and I have full access to the front of the engine....just need to get balancer off and I can see what is going on....

Actually looks like it is the timing chain cover ...up in the corner under the cylinder head.....

took a nap and had a bowl of ice cream..... I pulled the other heads off and sent them to the machine shop and I reused the MLS head gasket.......trying to save a few bucks....but that is life. See how i feel tomorrow.....

well...all hooked up...and put water in it....and...and it is leaking out of the corner of the fricking head gasket.. go home to take a nap.....

did not get it running today....was still waiting on spark plugs...but i found a new set of ngk in the trailer looking for something else.... spend the day putting a new stereo in old 88 D250 as the AM radio died years ago.....now got some new tunes....plus I needed to fix driver side...

might get this running tomorrow......the little **** kills ya...got thermostat housing cleaned and bolted on...primed the engine....had to go buy some oil as my shelf was as bare as biden.... went to autozone and tried to get some autolite plugs 3922 nope....ended up ordering them from Oreily's...

dropped Eddy heads off at the machine shop to fix the 4 exhaust valves..... got the SM heads out.....dusted off....had to remove inter springs on them too...got them bolted on to block....torqued down....dam i am getting weak... lifters...pushrods and roller rockers back on...valves...

Going with plan B......got a set of SM that were ported last year.....fresh and clean the eddy heads taken off have been run hard and put away wet....they had an exhaust valve break off several years ago....but every thing is new in them,,,,,off to the shop they go

Looks like there is going to be a delay in running this 410 motor, I got exhaust valves 3 and 5 blowing a ton of air by them while i was taking the inner springs off this morning.....need to pull the head and take to machine shop.
