Ive got an exhaust leak so I bought new Remflex gaskets. Im using fenderwell headers. Gaskets arrived to day and all the bolt holes are close up as in not notched to slip down on the studs. Is it ok to trim the material out so I dont have to pull the headers?

Yes this would start the muffler at about where the transmission meets the driveshaft. Just a reconfiguration I had it mind. Trying to use parts I got on hand.

I have proparts headers on my 440. The collector is bit over 12" long the collector reducer is about 6" long... Would it be ok to install muffler after the reducer? Guess im not sure if there is a general rule of thumb for length before muffler?

Ok i had an issue. The ones that came with the hedman collectors the bolt circle isnt big enough. None of the holes line up with the bolt pattern on the collector itself. The inlet is the right size. I tried looking for instructions but nothing avaliable for these. My question as you can see in the photos. Does the gasket go between the bracket and the lip or on the outside of the lip? I assume when bolted down this gap will close? Common knowledge for some Im sure.

I basically got $100 in this set which is why im keeping them. Ride height isnt set either so maybe when get that done and everything where it needs to be it will be k.

Actually was looking for a solution that didn't involve spending money i don't have. I also remember a thread which i couldnt find about someone cutting a wedge out of their collector and welding it back up at an angle. Not alot of tire options with a 4" rim

Tires are about 25" tall. I tried to get a photo but with the angle its sitting on stands it wasnt possible. Im worried about it hitting and really doing some damage.

So guessing not alot of options ehh? I was afraid of that.

Using Pro Parts headers in a 440. The header collector hangs low on the driver side. Looking for solutions to raise it up. I had thought about using a floor jack and providing pressure to raise it. Any better ideas?

I have some pro-parts BB fenderwell headers. Ive got the collectors on doesnt seem to be much holding them on besides the slip fit. Should i tach them with welder?

Those headers are for sale on the board here. Just about a week or so ago they came up.

only draw back is there offset inlet offset outlet. But ehh free is free. I didn knock on them a bit to see if they sounded solid or clogged. But they sounded hollow which is a good thing i think.
