Hotchkis leaf spring front eye bolt size

I know this an older thread but can anyone verify that the front eye bolt is 5/8"? I called Hotchkis and they told me 1/2" I need 5/8" for my Valiant. I have RMS leaf spring relocation boxes. Thanks.

    Bent axle housing

I wish I had a way to strap it down and stuff it in a press. It's not bent that bad but it's not straight either. I found a place called (DTS) Drive Train Specialist in Warren. They said they can handle the job. The local 4x4 shop sends their housings to them. We shall see. Thanks for the...

    Bent axle housing

Looking for some assistance. I am finishing my leaf spring relocation and discovered that my axle housing is slightly bent. I'm in SE lower Michigan. Does anyone know of a place that would straighten it out? I called Moser and they said they can't straighten it but would cut the end off and...

aftermarket steering column early A body

Quick add on note to this install. Will not work with magnum manifolds in early A unless some serious machining is done to the manifold. Will not work with TTI headers as the adapters are too large to fit through the header tubes. Looking like stock early A manifolds are the way to go for fitment.

aftermarket steering column early A body

I picked up 1 bearing p/n 0474472 and 2 locking collars p/n 33376 from Fastenal. I use a locking collar on both sides of the bearing to keep the bearing from migrating. Parts are about $14.00. I originally did this about 8 years ago on my 66 Cuda. I think I have seen a 1 piece unit now that...

aftermarket steering column early A body

No problem. I use a 15" aftermarket steering wheel so the tilt will come in handy. I have trouble seeing the gauges with the 14" steering wheels. The 14" steering wheel partially covers the gauges. Tilt will give me legroom with the bigger steering wheel.

aftermarket steering column early A body

The new column has a wiring connector that is common for gm vehicles. I haven't addressed that yet since I will be rewiring my car. It shouldn't be too hard to come up with a connector to use existing mopar wiring. I will most likely be using a harness from Ron Francis that will have the proper...

aftermarket steering column early A body

I'm sorry, I am not very good at "how to" writeups. I kinda work and think on the fly. I am happy with how this turned out and this mod will increase the comfort level when driving. I will probably duplicate it on my other cars eventually.

aftermarket steering column early A body

Here is a comparison of my factory column and the 32" tilt column. It is very close in length to my modified column. The new column has a 1" DD output shaft. I purchased a Borgeson coupler p/n 315249. This adapts the output shaft 1" DD to 3/4" DD. I purchased a 9" piece of 3/4" DD steering shaft...

aftermarket steering column early A body

I received my tilt steering column and have it installed. I will start off by saying that I had already modified my factory column so I will show some pics of that. The first thing I do to all of my mopars when I get them is ditch the factory grease steering box and replace it with a Borgeson...

aftermarket steering column early A body

Is anyone out there using an aftermarket tilt column in an early A body? Just exploring my options since I'm redoing my interior in my 65 Valiant. Thanks in advance.

HDK Tubular Coil Over for Stock Steering

I found about an hour today to get my car back on the ground and do a test drive. Not sure if this will help but I set my coilovers up with 2 threads showing below the locking collar. My front tires are 24.9" tall. Mine measures 25" from the ground to the bottom of the fender lip above the front...

HDK Tubular Coil Over for Stock Steering

Just finished the install on the 66 Cuda. Ran out of time to grease everything and bleed the brakes. I've got 4 16 hour days ahead of me so it'll have to wait till next week. Pardon the wheel wells. It's my daily driver in the summer.

    Dillingerchasis

Well, if anyone knows John personally I would like to ask them to tell him to get in touch with me so we can square things up. I promise I won't hold a grudge. Life is too short for that. I realize s**t happens to us all and sometimes all you can do is hang on for the ride.

    Dillingerchasis

I dealt with John 3 times. The first 2 times went fine. I got pimped on my last transaction to the tune of $275.00. I never received the lower control arms that I paid for. Lots and lots of unanswered PM's and many unanswered emails and voice mails. I did get in touch with his wife via email and...
