Looking for some assistance. I am finishing my leaf spring relocation and discovered that my axle housing is slightly bent. I'm in SE lower Michigan. Does anyone know of a place that would straighten it out? I called Moser and they said they can't straighten it but would cut the end off and reweld so that the end would be straight with the rest of the housing?? Not sure what that would do for my leaf spring perches being straight. Thanks for looking.

Check with a local HD truck/suspension shop, not every one does them but many do. Possibly an offroad shop, too.

You can straighten it, but you have to heat it in the right place and then cool it in the right place and move it back. PITA. Just cutting the end off and relocating that won’t make the tube straight. Unless they are talking about cutting the housing off on the straight part and selling a new piece in there. That is a whole nother set of issues.

I'd chuck that up in a press and straighten it so quick you'd never know it happened.

I wish I had a way to strap it down and stuff it in a press. It's not bent that bad but it's not straight either. I found a place called (DTS) Drive Train Specialist in Warren. They said they can handle the job. The local 4x4 shop sends their housings to them. We shall see. Thanks for the responses. I'll post back afterwards.

Just remember one thing. If that housing end on that side was replaced with the housing bent, it's likely been positioned so that's it's straight in relation to the axle. In other words, when you have the housing straightened, it may put that housing end and bearing in a bind. ....or it may not.

Even if that's the case, I would still want that housing straight. If it's in a bind after it's straight, you will of course have to cut that end off and straighten it up, or replace it with one welded on straight.

I’ve bought parts from DTS in the past. Seems like a reputable place.
