M1 dual plane vs chinese air gap

I'm putting together another La block with magnum heads. I am on a tight budget right now and came across a used M1 dual plane intake for a small block. I am looking for feedback. Edelbrock carb issue

    Edelbrock carb issue

I have determined that my 600 performer Edelbrock carb is causing my problems on my car. It makes a loud hissing, gurgling noise on the right side from the secondaries. anyone happen to know what causes this? Carb is 6 years old but only has about 3000 miles on it. Acts almost like a vacuum leak.

I have been thinking about trying a demon 625 carb on my 360. Are these any easier to adjust than the regular Holley carbs? I know they are designed similiar but I haven't had much luck with holley carbs. Always seem to be blowing power valves and such. I have run Edelbrocks on my last couple of...
