    Compression Depression

I believe its because a stock 360 had dished pistons to increase the combustion chamber volume. And 66cc is correct for those late 70's 360 heads.

    Small oil leak

Mine was leaking from most of the area's at the back of the intake. At first I thought it was the distributor gasket or oil sender leaking, as I was sure I had sealed the intake well. I honestly think my issue was just using the blue sealer I bought from jegs. It did great at the front, but not...

    Small oil leak

I had this EXACT same problem when I put an airgap intake on my 360. It think it was not sealed enough in corners of the back of the intake where it really needs more of the goop stuff. I also used the cheapo sealer from jegs. I took it off and re-did it with "Right Stuff" brand sealer. It works...

    Valve Cover Gasket question

You want the DCC-5249581AB ones. Steel core with rubber. I use them on my 360. No leaks, and I have reused them so many times I have lost count. The other ones are are really stiff, and may not be reusable at all. I have them as well, but have never put them on, they feel much stiffer than cork...

    What oil has zinc now?

Royal Purple has it. Pricey, but good stuff. I get mine from Jegs or Summit, but the local parts store's has some of it for sale now.

    Oil leak rear of intake

Thanks! I had to buy a lokar (I didnt know mildon had one) after I kept having leaks with the stock one (even after replacing the o-ring). Its pretty freaking nice!! It has two o-rings on the fitting for the tranny for a really good seal. And its so flexable, you can bend it in half, and it...

    Oil leak rear of intake

Just thought I would give an Positive update: After removing the intake it was very clear that the rear didnt seal up like it should, and caused the leak. So I cleaned everything really really good and used new gaskets on the sides, and "The Right Stuff" on the front and rear. Also used a...

    Oil leak rear of intake

I used teflon on the sending unit as specified in the instructions. Also used it on the bolts that didnt have blind holes. Thanks for the tips on the intake. I will try the old metal gasket tomorrow on the distributor and see if that does it. I was sure I did a good job sealing the rear of the...

    Oil leak rear of intake

I have an oil leak at the rear of my engine right behind the intake. I just installed a new Mopar distributor and an Edlebrock air-gap on my 360, and the problem didnt appear until after the install. I used the recommended gaskets on the sides, and only rtv on the front and back. I though it was...

    Help

I picked up a new positive cable for my Duster last week while I was putting my starter back in. It was like only 8 bucks at my local parts store. It had the nice ends already on it, and extra cable for the relay. My old one looked OK but after closer inspection it was corroded at the starter...

    bad vibrations

If it does it only while driving I would check the drive shaft pinion angle. An engine swap may have changed this? I had a similar problem because of a worn-out tranny mount after an engine swap. It caused the tail-shaft of the tranny not to be at the right angle side to side and up and down...

    318 running bad

Also check to make sure you are getting good voltage at the coil. When I had the high miles 318 in my car it had almost the exact same problem.(before I yanked it for a 360) It turned out I was only getting 4volts at the coil! Bad/Old cracked wiring can cause issues like this also.

    Sb/bb?

I have a 360, so I really like the smallblock choice(it sure rev's nice). But when I blow up this engine, I really want to put in a BB. I already have an extra one taking up space that would fit nice, so thats my future plan. I have no idea how it will handle with a BB in my Duster, but I do...

anyone use a D.U.I. tri power ignition?

The skipping on the old mopar electronic ignition could be due to the electronic voltage regulator or other wiring gremlins that cause voltage drops and spikes.

    360 Balance Question

I will be sure to check the pinion angles and all after I get the driveshaft fixed. There is only ONE place that does driveshafts locally, and I have not heard good things about them from other mopar owners. Are there any good custom driveshaft places that I can order one from maybe? My...

    360 Balance Question

Thank You for the reply. Furthur inspection shows the tranny mount is COMPLETELY thrashed, and the tranny looks like its not in straight. I'm not completely shure, but either the engine mounts wore out that cause the tranny mount problem, or its the other way around. I will just buy the whole...

    360 Balance Question

Is it hard to change out the inserts in the mounts? The local parts store has the whole mount (right) for 9.99. And left for 11.99. Or the inserts are about 4 dollars. Can the new inserts be put into the mounts without removing it from the engine? I have TTI headers, will these be in the way...

    360 Balance Question

Thank You for the quick reply Mike. I plan to rebuilt the suspension this holiday weekend and then get the wheel balance and alignment checked out. It could be a problem with the 32 year old suspension parts or something else. It could also be the trans mount or engine mounts, the trans mount...

    360 Balance Question

I get a vibration in the steering at 40mph and and at other speeds above that. I think the 727 and 360 in my duster were split and now the external balance on the torque convertor is off. Is it possible the flex plate and convertor were not marked when they were removed and installed and now...
