    MagnaFlow 11256

Running them on my Duster. 2.5" with x-pipe and they are pretty mellow. If you want a real mellow muffler then they are good. They are BIG too, 24" case length and 4"x9" body shape. They sound good, but don't bark hard like a smaller 18" case does. I had the std Magnaflows on my last car and...

Mandrel vs crush bend; Worth it?

With the availability of cheap mandrel bends in various sizes these days from many vendors including summit etc I can't see why you wouldn't? Unless your desperate for something in a time crunch and just want it quick and dirty from Muffler Man or something. I bought a Summit universal mandrel...

    Cost for dual exhaust?

Just buy a universal kit from Summit or somewhere and have a buddy weld it up! Got this done on the Duster just recently! Way nicer and more reasonable than the hack at muffler man or uber priced custom shop! Plus all mandrel bent! Credit goes to my friend Andre (Ironside on FABO) for the work...

New exhaust doesn't sound all that great

God don't do that! That XE275 is WAY better and will make better power! The Thumprs are for sound! Do a little research and I think you'll find that the XE275 is a very good cam! IMHO your setting yourself up for disappointment! Keep the XE275 and run a true dual 2.5" exhaust. It'll thump

    Thrush turbo mufflers too loud.

Summit turbo mufflers were real tame for me. Too tame, but I had opposite problem. Also Accurate Exhaust oem style mufflers seem tame too. Both would be better flowing than your run of the mill Tuffy special, that being the quietest I'd say.

Jonesexhaust.com Their full boar muffler line is great and well priced

do i really need 3" exhaust

Here's a detailed flow test. Lol...in my opinion mandrel bent is more important in this case. A nice 2 1/2" mandrel bent system with an x-pipe placed in the correct location is the best bet, but any decent system will do again, as long as your not racing and trying to eek out every single bit of...

    TTI Dougs with black finish

Sorry for the late reply! Plugs seem the same if not a bit easier. Getti g to the header bolts for retorquing after a few cycles is easier.... Good luck. You won't be dissatisfied with Dougs

    TTI Dougs with black finish

Had TTI's on the Duster and just swapped 'em over for brand new Doug's....way cheaper AND fit better! Win/Win all the way around. I dont think I'd go back to TTI's. Nothing wrong with TTI but for a 67-72 application Doug's has my new vote! Couple pics to look at...

TTI's to Doug's swap and headpipe fitment issues?

Hey everyone, thanks again for all the input. I ordered up a set of Doug's already since I can get them quickly from Summit. I'd recoat my TTI's but there's nobody close by that do a good strip on them and a fresh ceramic coating. So....we'll see how t he Doug's fit up to my headpipes. A little...

TTI's to Doug's swap and headpipe fitment issues?

Thanks for the input guys....I may buy the Doug's then since I can get them quicker i think. Only reason for not buying TTI again is really availability and cost. Can get Doug's a little quicker and they are a bit cheaper. Heck never used Doug's either. Always fun to try new stuff...I'm...

TTI's to Doug's swap and headpipe fitment issues?

So I'm thinking about swapping my TTI's for Doug's while my motor is out. TTI's have been great but there is nobody around to recoat them for me and I want some nice new looking headers going back on my nice new engine. Wondering if I buy some Doug's if my exhaust will bolt back up easily...

    Quiet mufflers

Cherry Bomb - Vortex....no drone, real nice part throttle sound and barks at WOT when you want them to. Bought my Duster w/ a 2.5" dual system and these muff's on it, and they are the best I've ever experienced. Best of both worlds...that I've ever delt with anyway. Just my $.02

    Need help buying exhaust!!!!

Your looking at custom tailpipes w/ the relo kit.... Had my exhaust done by a buddy that owns Muffler Man for $180...included a H pipe and tailpipes. Kept my headpipes...but if I need them it'd only be about $230....moral is, find a buddy who knows a shop etc....and you can find a pretty good...

    new mufflers...opinion please

leblanc- To answer your orig. question and not totally hijack the thread...I had Magnaflow's on my 340 Dart and they replaced Flow's...I loved the sound of them compared to the Flow's. Some around here like to call them ridiculous names and knock them...but that's just ignorance IMO. I just...

What's the weaker spring do in the 17156's vs the 17956's? The 17956's have a stronger spring that takes more pressure to open? Just curious...like these VT's but trying to learn more about them. Cant wait to hear the sound clips!

    Need Headers Installed in Boston

All true! However I think TTI has finally succumbed to a "blurb" about the Z-bar on their website if I'm not mistaken? I think I saw it last time I was checking out headers and was pleasantly suprised! Of course it reads something like "...may interfere with z-bar on manual transmission...

    Need Headers Installed in Boston

Dont let a shop rake you with it. I had headers installed in my car for about $125 last year when I couldnt get to it myself. With the lift the right tools they did it in a couple hours. Basically translated into about 2hrs labor because I supplied the parts. Just make sure it's a reputable shop...

Anyopne with Hooker Super Comp 5204's

I'm running them. I had to jack up the engine to get the driver side out. Once they are in they fit good. Easy to change plugs like previuosly mentioned. I dont have any steerging box issues, or any other rubbing/clearance issue either for that matter. Fitment seems to be good, getting them...
