    New TTi shorties

X-2! The TTI system I bought for my '72 Valiant/360 Magnum was a joy to install becauseEVERYTHING FIT, and made installation a snap. I am a lousy mechanic, on top of being older than dirt, and I had no trouble at all. There's more to a set of headers than just how much HP they make, although...

    TTI exhaust too loud

When I bought my TTI system, they didn't sell an X-Pipe version, yet. When I wrote and asked them if they were going to, they said, "No; the X-pipe thing is just a fad; we're not going to offer one." True story...

    TTI exhaust too loud

I don't have room for a 3-pass muffler system... too wide. See attached pictures for the reason... I am no longer strong enouh to be bench-presing these third members into the housin, so, I built myself a "helper" from a Harbor Freight transmission jack and some scrap metal I had lying...

    TTI exhaust too loud

Well, I can't really put mufflers ahead of my dumps because opening the dumps is supposed to eliminate the mufflers and free up the exhaust. Right now, the dumps are just ahead of the existing mufflers. If I put glasspacks ahead of the dumps, I won't be gaining much of an advantage when I get...

    TTI exhaust too loud

I have a TTI H-pipe system. After the collector, there's the H-Pipe section, then the muffler location... The only place I can see where there's any room is in the very back. Am I missing something?:read2:

    TTI exhaust too loud

I had to remove the Dynomax Super Turbos from my Valiant (2.5" TTI H-pipe system) and replace them with Pypes M-80s.... (long story.) They have provided me with the worst sounding exhaust system I have ever heard (machine-gun, stacatto, sound with no "body.") I would gladly add some...

LA headers fit on a Magnum?

Not really an answer to the question, but I bought TTI headers for my 360 Magnum in a '72 A body, and the fit was absolutely flawless, with no clearance problems anywhere. The TTI flanges sealed perfectly to the Magnum exhaust ports.

TTI exhaust, is it worth it??

    >>>"The driver side muffler hanger was no where near the seat belt bolt, 6" or more away! I ended up bending both of them twice, cutting the driverside in half, and re-welding it to offset the mounting hole away from the brake line tab. The muffler hangers they provide are symmetrical and...

TTI exhaust, is it worth it??

I am not made out of money, and dollars don't come easy for me, but my OPINION is this: For the following reasons, I think the TTI's were worth every penny they cost me, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat, even if I had to rob a convenience store to get the money.... (I bought the headers...

Pypes mufflers on a TTI exhaust

Don't know anything about "Violaters," but I put a pair of Pypes M-80s on my Valiant (to gain some room around the driveshaft) and it sounds horrible. I didn't much like the way it sounded with the Dynomax Super Turbos that came with the TTI setup I bought, but they sounded GREAT compared to...

    340 exhaust manifold questions

I agree with what you said completely, LX Guy, but as the rpms increase, I think the differential between cast iron manifolds and headers will increase. Moving more air through the same pipes ( at higher RPM's) would favor the individual pipes of a set of headers, I would think.

    Manifold ID in early A-Body

I have heard rumors that the exhaust manifolds from 318/360 Magnum pickup will work (in an early A-Body) with a little massaging. That would be a last-ditch alternative to tubing headers. Ask around; there might not be insurmountable obstacles in getting the Magnum manifolds on there. Word...

    Manifold ID in early A-Body

I couldn't get that to work at all. I had '71 340 exhaust manifolds on a 340 engine that I dropped into a '64 Valiant and they hit the inner fender panels HARD on both sides. Not only that, but it was a 4-speed car and with the clutch linkage (Z-bar, etc.) adding to the "congestion" down...

Thanks for the nice birthday wishes, guys.... I think I'm gonna celebrate by putting down a couple of stripes on this new road they just paved, behind my house. LOL!!! Seems like the need for speed doesn't decrease with age.... weird...8) Bill, in Conway, Arkansas

Hey, thanks for the kind words! :-D Don't sweat the coffee issue; you know I just like to run off at the mouth.... er... keyboard. LOL! I'll try to tone it down a little; I'm sure people get bored, reading my diatribes. It's just that once I get started, it's hard to stop...

If you put a cam in an engine and it has some impresisve specs RE: lift, but it runs like a crippled turkey, it's probably not the lift that's causing the problem. I think that to get meaningful cylinder pressure at the rpm's you want and need it, you have to take into consideration the size...
