Recommendations for good "A" street header

Don't know if header technology has changed since I was a young buck. I've had 2 set of headers on my '72s...Kustoms (R.I.P) and Doug Thorleys. IIRC neither set required any denting or manipulation to fit. One set (can't recall which) had the left front tube as a slip-on removable piece to go...

@yellow rose Do the Hookers bolt up without pounding dents in them? Also, do they clear the standard starter?

Recommendations for good "A" street header

Forgot to mention...yeah, right now I have the option to switch over to the mini starter but as with everything else, it adds to the bottom line. Pretty sure I have two of the original starters to choose from. Also, thanks for the tip on the Z-bar mods. With headers I've had in this car in the...

Recommendations for good "A" street header

Not trying to re-hash anyone's old battles. Everyone's build is different...which is why I listed my car's specs. Every manufacturer claims their product is "the best". I'd like to hear from actual users who can back up the claims or call bullshit on them, is all.

Recommendations for good "A" street header

Soon (hopefully when the weather breaks in the spring) I will be shopping for a new set of headers for my A-body '72 340 Duster. The car has power brakes but manual steering, and a 4 speed for fitment. J-heads. Looking for recommendations on a decent set of street headers that will fit with no...

Dumping the exhaust behind the rear axle?

My first setup on my Duster had Thrush header mufflers bolted straight to the headers and ending right there. After about six months of this, the headaches from the noise and having the interior reek of exhaust made me a believer. I put on full pipes with the Duster bullet tips and Hush Thrush...

    Opinions....best headers for '72 Duster

Thanks, for the info, guys. I doubt if TTI sells direct to the public. Appreciate the links and the reviews. (The smartass comments I could do without. I've raised my kids already.)

    Doug's Headers ??

Sorry, should have clarified...... This story took place like 25 years ago. They were cheap then. Actually right now I'm considering Hedman or Hookers

    Doug's Headers ??

I had some on my '72 Duster...Long story short, had Hedmans, wrecked the car, bought new car, swapped motors, Hedmans were trashed, in a pinch so grabbed the Doug's. They worked OK, I guess. Fairly cheap construction, not overly impressed with the welds, tube thickness, etc. When I pulled the...
