How do you get it up?

If you dropped a running and driving car off at my shop and the only requirement was to leave the line with the front tires one foot in the air, my ball park estimate would be 40K to get you there. My shop is in san jose Ca so we charge more than most shops but I dont think that number is crazy...

Torque + Traction = wheelie. How you get there is the tricky part. Lots of ways to skin a cat.

James' rear end and 4-link adventure

Man this is traumatizing me all over again.. I would also like to add i think it was VERY unprofessional of Willwood to NOT mention the fact that theirrear disk kit will not work on factory axles. Also their E brake cable will not work with the factory cable. Before this job i held Willwood in...

James' rear end and 4-link adventure

Ace fuel uses an old school analog "sniffer" and like i said if you get the right guy they can do a hell of a job. If you get some "new guy" well lets just say they dont teach how to use that machine at tech schools.. I went to ace with a pocket full of cash and they turned me away as they...

Rear leaf spring Question 74 Dart

Have you looked into having your old springs re arched? Most semi truck shops will do it for cheep. Call aroumd to heavy truck equipment / repar shops and ask. I had custom U bolts made at a truck repar shop here in Ca for dirt cheep. They also re arch springs. I know the shop i used is to...

Should I keep my power steering

71 dart. Leaked PS fluid all the time. Came across a manual bix out of a donor car for free. Bought the adapter and presto noore leaks, no extra hoses or belts. Just get the car rolling before you try and change directions....or its hand over hand. I also have a very small steering wheel so...

How I swapped my K frame last week

I probably would have ran a few 4 inch screws tieing it all together bit yeah. Thats a pretty clever way to do it. I lift some heavy engines with the trans attached at stupid angles by the carb bolts. It always makes me nervous. Your way at least is just hanging so id think id probably lay...

    Your drag advice needed

I have 29X10.5X15 in my 71 dart. 4inch backspace on narrowed housing, mini tubs and springs under the frame. Its a tight fit. I dont think you gonna get there with out some cutting. My opinion is if i did it again i would do it differently. I would not use any of the original wheel well. I...

    Moving rear axle back

29 10.5 15s And I got a fair bit of room for more tire but I don't wanna get into the big boy tire size. If I ever do it again I would run the mini tubs up to the package tray and set the car on the ground.

    Moving rear axle back

Yeah. I moved it into the scrap bin and I installed spring slides. Better traction and lowerd the *** end, so it was a win win.

    Moving rear axle back

Moving the axle to the rear dont affect the spring length. It all moves.... @RustyRatRod I moved mine almost an inch to the rear. But I centered my tire and moved the springs under the frame on sliders, with mini tubs.

    Offset ball joint part number?

Money is no issue apparently cuz I've destroyed two sets of brand new front drag skinnys in short order trying to align this thing.... Save a nicke spend a dime. In all fairness to me tho. No one around here wants to align a 40+ year old car so I'll just keep after it till I get it right....

Coupler pin steering box help please.

I use a roll pin punch. The pin is a split pin. Funny thing. When I bought the 150 dollar adapter the pin supplied with mine was realy loose. I **** caned it and just put the original pin back in. Lucky I had saved the pin out of the power box so I had 2 original pins. You'd think for the...

    Offset ball joint part number?

Just got home. I used a floor jack under the crossmember with the camber caster gauge on. Lifted the car until it read 0 camber and set the T bars there. Then adjusted the cam bolts for caster. Ended up at 1.5 degrees caster. Right where I wanted to be! Car pulls a hair to the right for some...

    Offset ball joint part number?

AH HA! dang it! That makes sense. I did drop the nose a little when I redid the front end. How do we determine factory ride height? I was confusing the bushings with ball joints sounds like. I do have the 73 UCA. Frickin Face palm! Thank you!
