Check your fuel pump push rod, I had this problem on a new engine. Original rod was not compatible with the new cam and got worn down. Replaced it with a Comp Cam push rod and haven't had problems. Alan

Interesting, I was looking at one of my OE carburetors the other day and noticed the wing nut didn't appear to be typical clear zinc coated wing nut, I couldn't tell if it was phosphate coated one or painted. I haven't looked at it that closely yet. Alan
