    Powder coating a water pump

:-D ... God I love honesty. Rusty Rob, please keep in mind that most coaters just blast and powder coat whatever comes in the door. They don't give any thought to cleaning up casting defects or repairing any damage. Personally, I just can't see doing the work any other way except all the way...

First solo job on my car didn't go so well .... Aaarrrrggghhhh!

Boy, I've been there myself! Made up a few very unladylike words along the way of my resto too. Keep in mind that sometimes throwing things helps ... sometimes not. :-D

Lower radiator hose collapses at higher rpm

Wow, that's scary! All those prayers to the Tig Welding Gods paid off that day. :-D

Lower radiator hose collapses at higher rpm

It's probably an old hose and the support spring inside of it has collapsed or rusted away to nothing. Radiator hoses are cheap but overheated blocks are not. Time for a new one! :-D

    HomeMade Fan Shroud

Barge, as I've been saying all day ... it looks phenomenal!!! Glad you decided to share your hard work with everybody. Tyler, original shrouds are really hard to find, and finding one in great shape after 40+ years is almost impossible (they're plastic). If you do get lucky and find one...

    Is Bigger Better?

Check out Speedway Motors too. Got a really nice crossflow triple core a few years back for a couple hundred bucks. And Terry, I've been told it's not the size that matters. It's how you use it. :-D

    I need a bigger radiator....

I bought a nice crossflow aluminum radiator from SpeedwayMotors.com for under $200. No problem keeping the 340 cool even idling in traffic. Had to fab up some mounts for it but it fit just fine. (I can get measurements if you want them.)

    Sumitt Universail Radiator

Before you make a final decision, check out the aftermarket radiators at SpeedwayMotors.com. I bought a NICE aluminum triple core crossflow from them, and a beautiful billet recovery tank too, for about $200.
