How many cast iron manifolds have you seen with a crack, or weld repair? I don't think cast aluminum will have the tensile strength to hold up to the abuse an exhaust manifold has to take.

The best way to weld the two pipes together is to create a beveled groove weld joint. This is done by grinding a bevel on the ends of each pipe, then fitting them tight together.

The best way to repair it is with an arc welder and nickle rod. Ive seen them brazed with a torch. But the arc welder does alot better job.

I Have Installed These A Few Times. I Had My Best Luck By Just Unbolting The Side Your Working On Wether It Be Passenger Or Driver. Just Raise That Side And Leave The Other Bolted. By Getting The Motor Sideways You Seem To Get A Little More Room. That Is What Worked For Me
