You can store a lot of parts on shelves of the type you referenced. I think I bought mine from Lowes or HD. They rescued me from a lot of clutter.

I am not sure I see the problem. "Holes drilled off center"? Your pictures don't necessarily show that.

That looks silver to me. The hinged trunk wall is either folded down or is missing as you should not be able to see into the trunk from the interior when it is closed. That's the trunk lid latch/lock mechanism you are looking at in that picture. Trunk itself appears silver to me.

A really bad night. I veered off a 2 lane road at maybe 35 mph over a ditch and took out a few trees. The trees won. Car ended up on the roof in someone's front yard. I was not wearing a seat belt but had no serious injury. I was very lucky. I still miss that '68 Barracuda.

IMO 80 grit is way too aggressive and could leave you with a bare metal surface that is a bunch of work to smooth. I would not do that to a new fender. As I said, just my opinion based on the few cars I have prepped & painted. I am just an amateur though and not a professional.

8-3/4 aluminum center sections. They are out there. I found one here on FABO a little while back. Keep your eye out. Back 20 years or so ago I bought the Mopar piece with everything else needed to build it new for roughly $1500. It is still in my car. I pounded on it 30 times or so drag racing...

Finally welded some metal today. This box will be welded to front trailer frame. I need one more clamp to get it up there.

I am slow. I drilled 2 top plates (one is a spacer to clear winch fairlead pins from mounting plate). Had 1st side clamped to mounting plate for welding. Put new roll of .030 wire in and pulled trigger. Heat setting 1 and 4 do not light up. I guess my welder is toast after all these years. Damn!

I never hooked anything to the side of trailer and never wanted to. Front and rear of trailer frame should allow you to hook. But like I said, I haven't seen your trailer.

I always used ratchet straps hooked to frame of trailer, front and rear. I used 2 straps in rear, one on each side of axle housing. No brake line concern on mine. I used a single ratchet strap in front around K frame hooking to 2 points on front trailer frame. Not having seen your trailer frame...

:) Decided to go my own way on this. Drilled the 2 mounting holes in plate tonight. The fairlead pins on this winch though are a bit below flush with the base. So I will need to "dimple" drill clearance for those pins.

I bought an 8" x 8" 1/4" steel plate for the mounting plate along with two 8" x 6" 1/4" steel plates to gusset the thing to the trailer front frame. Trying to revive my welder now. Wish me luck. LOL.

I voted flat bed car hauler. I have not had one in some 8 years or so as my old one rotted away under a cedar tree. I just bought another for a bunch of money (I live somewhere else now with no Cedar tree:)) I am now working on winch purchase/install etc... This trailer is all I need.

That did happen to me. I think 1980 or so. I drove that beautiful 1968 Barracuda to its demise. Shame on me. I should have stayed home. No one else was involved or hurt. I was barely hurt myself believe it or not.

I'm completely opposite. I saw an early Barracuda with big tires and air shocks when I was in high school and figured it was the most awesome car ever. I got a 273 Commando car in or about 1975 and still have it today. Picture is somewhere in the 1990's or so??, still on the street. Big tires...
