The fender tag should have the color code of the vinyl top and the interior. Use that code to match the stripe obtained from @challengergary.

He could use the magnet and blue tape to determine the shape and size of the non-magnetic area. It would give an idea of whether or not an after market sunroof was once installed.

My early 71 Duster has trim spears on the rockers so there is no seam visible.

I have a 1969 Dodge C body service manual and a 1971 Plymouth service manual. Neither one has instructions on how to remove exterior trim nor do they mention any special tool needed to do such a thing. The 1969 manual shows the clips in a diagram but that is it. Sorry that I am no further help.

Well, pishta was trying to get it into a hole anyways.

I thought the screw at the one end anchored the trim from moving. Remove the screw and slide the trim towards the closed end. If I recall correctly.

Here’s what I am talking about. One assembler/inspection guy left his thumbprint as his mark!! This is from my 1971 Duster 340 Hamtramck plant assembly date 8/20/1970.

I like the factory inspection marks because it lends a personal touch from the assemblers who may not be alive today. I prefer to leave them as is but your car is yours and you should finish it the way you prefer.

I have used a 5 inch suction cup to pop out dents that had no sharp creases.

I actually like the two-tone paint scheme and the color combination. Remember that Dodge and Plymouth were really into eye-catching and eye-popping color schemes in the early 70s. I remember seeing a few two-tone paint jobs on Dusters along with the trim in place as a paint color separator.

A friend’s white vinyl top on his 73 Dart was peeling badly. He removed it and painted the top white.

The first TX9 refers to the interior panels: Black The second TX9 probably refers to the vinyl top color: Black Book says VO2: paint-two tone

I looked at my Duster. The AMD quarter line is correct. It looks to me that the wheel well cutout is slightly different. Seems to be more “square” than the original.

Did you ever have the idea to obtain a second deck lid to have the spoiler and to preserve the original in case you ever want to go back? I have done that with the hood of my Duster because I wanted to be able to switch between the factory look and the dual snorkel scoop.

FYI the rocker was painted black below the trim. It gives a sense of thinning the body from top to bottom.

Try putting up a “WANTED” ad for them and be patient. A set will eventually turn up. There are a few guys on this forum who part out cars and they can keep an eye out for them for you. They were an option item for new cars. I remember guys removing them in the late 1970s. My Duster still has...

Take the car to Arizona or Nevada and have it painted there or rent a spray booth.

Take the arm and tumbler out and use a long flat head screwdriver. Works every time! :rofl:
