    225 Bending Rods

A question about gas....could new gas be the issue at all? What works best as an additive to the new gas to make the slant happy?

    225 Bending Rods

I'm thinking this may be the issue. I'll get my Dad to find out more since I'm 2 hours away from the shop and the Intrepid is going in this Friday.

    225 Bending Rods

Well it has been a while since I posted about the Dart. As per the older discussions it was taken to our mechanic. We could not get it going. Anyways. He got it running and it was inspected (Oct 2013). Now, he took it on a test drive the night before we were gonna pick it up (back in Oct) and it...

Will the '68 Dart 225 run again?

Interior is original and not too bad. Rip on back part of drivers seat. May have some clean up work to do (mice). But not too shabby. Whats up with your car?

Will the '68 Dart 225 run again?

The Dart got picked up on monday afternoon, glad it was hauled by a 12 valve Cummins :yawinkle: I will update as we receive them, the car has no brake either. Here are some pictures of the Dart out of the barn. We left the trim rings and centers in the barn.

Will the '68 Dart 225 run again?

Update: Air shocks still hold air after 10 years. Primo 205/70r14 tires were put on the ralleys and ralleys were put back on the car. Once the insurance card comes, the Dart goes to the garage!

Will the '68 Dart 225 run again?

Probably looking to go with these: http://www.sears.com/guardsman-plus-p205-70r14-93s-bsw/p-09533210000P?prdNo=1&blockNo=1&blockType=G1 because they are cheap. Car is not able to be driven yet...need tires for inspection.

Will the '68 Dart 225 run again?

The car has not had radial tires, only polyester. What are the radial specs for tires to fit the 14X5.5 ralleys?

Will the '68 Dart 225 run again?

Looks like we have found the insurance we had before, and "youthful" drivers can drive classics! Papers going in soon

Will the '68 Dart 225 run again?

Here in PA it is also the drivers choice, but my dad has had the car as a classic since the '80s I think, there are advantages to having it listed as such and I do not think he wants to switch it back. I was real excited about being able to drive the Dart...I will just stick to my Intrepid I...

Will the '68 Dart 225 run again?

Good News: Our mechanic is willing to take on the task. Very Bad News: The Dart is registered as a classic car, and the insurance will only allow people 25 and older to drive. :wack: I guess the car is not taken into consideration (4 door Dart, with a bone stock 6 banger). I mean c'mon, I...

Will the '68 Dart 225 run again?

wjajr, Thank you for the long write up. However, our mechanic has treated us very well, selling most parts at cost to us. This is not the first time he has had to get this Dart back into road worthy condition. We do have a shop manual and many tools, but we would rather get the car done right...

Will the '68 Dart 225 run again?

Thank you for all your help, probably gonna just pull the Dart out of the barn and have it hauled to mechanic. The car is going to need a lot for inspection. I have noticed that a lot of guys use BF Goodrich Radial TA's, any other tire recommendations, looking to put the rallys back on with...

Will the '68 Dart 225 run again?

We will probably try this first before the tank...should have done this before trying to start. Will update as soon as it gets done. Thanks

Will the '68 Dart 225 run again?

Ok, looks like before we kill the battery anymore, we are gonna take the tank out and clean out the old gas, put ALL fresh in, and see where it goes from there. I have looked at some posts and looked in the shop manual about removing the tank, any quick hints to make it go easy? Sorry it has...

Will the '68 Dart 225 run again?

Sorry we have not had a chance to check anything electrical yet, talked a a friend who has a mechanic relative, thought the carb may be gummed up and we actually are not getting fuel, may account for only running on choke cleaner. When the fuel was siphoned most of the 10 year old gas was gotten...

Will the '68 Dart 225 run again?

Sorry I was not really thinking when I read this, so here is my newbie question: does the car need to be running for the timing light to work? We have not gotten her to run for any amount of time really.

Will the '68 Dart 225 run again?

Tried her again today and no luck. We did not look in the distributor, not really sure if we would know what we are doing once we would be in. Not totally sure how to adjust timing.
