I believe the intake valves are the ones bending...not totally sure as I havent seen it myself.

A question about gas....could new gas be the issue at all? What works best as an additive to the new gas to make the slant happy?

Well it has been a while since I posted about the Dart. As per the older discussions it was taken to our mechanic. We could not get it going. Anyways. He got it running and it was inspected (Oct 2013). Now, he took it on a test drive the night before we were gonna pick it up (back in Oct) and it...

Interior is original and not too bad. Rip on back part of drivers seat. May have some clean up work to do (mice). But not too shabby. Whats up with your car?

The Dart got picked up on monday afternoon, glad it was hauled by a 12 valve Cummins :yawinkle: I will update as we receive them, the car has no brake either. Here are some pictures of the Dart out of the barn. We left the trim rings and centers in the barn.

Update: Air shocks still hold air after 10 years. Primo 205/70r14 tires were put on the ralleys and ralleys were put back on the car. Once the insurance card comes, the Dart goes to the garage!

The car has not had radial tires, only polyester. What are the radial specs for tires to fit the 14X5.5 ralleys?

wjajr, Thank you for the long write up. However, our mechanic has treated us very well, selling most parts at cost to us. This is not the first time he has had to get this Dart back into road worthy condition. We do have a shop manual and many tools, but we would rather get the car done right...

Ok, looks like before we kill the battery anymore, we are gonna take the tank out and clean out the old gas, put ALL fresh in, and see where it goes from there. I have looked at some posts and looked in the shop manual about removing the tank, any quick hints to make it go easy? Sorry it has...

Sorry we have not had a chance to check anything electrical yet, talked a a friend who has a mechanic relative, thought the carb may be gummed up and we actually are not getting fuel, may account for only running on choke cleaner. When the fuel was siphoned most of the 10 year old gas was gotten...

Tried her again today and no luck. We did not look in the distributor, not really sure if we would know what we are doing once we would be in. Not totally sure how to adjust timing.
