New motor blowing oil on headers

From your pics it looks okay. Dumb question. Is the seal in the timing chain cover where the balancer goes in? Is it ripped? Also at the corners of the oil pan where one bolt goes into the timing chain cover did you use silicone there. If your motor has lots of blow by it will find every crevice.

New motor blowing oil on headers

Only a few threads on the balancer bolt? That's not right. Are you sure you have the balancer on all the way? I highly doubt it.

Suggestions to contain rubber from burn outs

This always worked for me. I would wax the rear quarters. Wax on Wax off. Put wax on in time trials. Take wax off in winners lane.

    building 8 3/4 489 section

If you are driving the car to the track I would recommend a Detroit locker instead of a spool. I love them. I ran 4.86 with a 30 x 12.5 slick. My car is a 65 valiant. So I know its very light. 2850 with me in it. However I run a converter that flashes to 3800 rpm. With a 2.75 first gear ratio...

How the F... dose one remove the shift lever off a 904 in the car?

You can try to lower the tran by dropping drive shaft and rear trans mount. Usually could drop 3" before dizzy hit fire wall. Creates just enough room to get my hand and tools in there.

Do you start your 727 burnout in 1st or second?

It depends on what kind of valve body you are using as to whether you do your burn out in first or second.

Trying to sqeeze more out of my 340

What's your 1st gear ratio in your tranny? 2.75? For a 904 about 250.00. 727 triple that price. But it would help your 60 ' time if you can keep traction. Just a thought.

Starting line rpm enhancer for foot brake.

71gtdart AMEN. When the NHRA rule book doesn't have a rule about what you are doing its legal. Prime example nobody has brought up. In street class the rules says your tire has to be dot approved. So manufactures made slicks with two lines only 1/8" wide to get the dot certification. Now we all...

Starting line rpm enhancer for foot brake.

By some of the comments I have read. Would you consider a line lock illegal. It operates with electronics. NHRA doesn't. Play back tachs. NHRA doesn't Just curious. And how much advantage are you really gaining with a solenoid. You still have to cut a light. You still have to shift right. Your...

Starting line rpm enhancer for foot brake.

I call it an idle up solenoid. Just like for your ac. Advantage is correct. Same rpm everytime. It is not illegal. There is no electronics involved. Just turn your ac on even though there is no compressor. Modify the bracket holding said solenoid to achieve desired rpm. Imp no different than...
