    2spd auto 67 Cuda

Shift piston seal is cracked/ leaking in the front clutch/ steel set. No piston pressure = No clutch to steel engage. Bad clutch discs and steels will engage, but they slip. If this has nothing, you've got no seal on the piston.

    TCI Transmission is bad

I doubt it, but you can confirm what it is by checking the transmission with compressed air. If you can get under the car (your favorite, I know) and remove the valve body, you can follow a factory Chrysler shop manual to put an air nozzle on each passage that they outline to check the...

    8 3/4" from a 1/2 Ton P/U or Van For "A" Body

driving habits, dwell, gap and carb tune is likely to speculate those aspects. 3.91 gears on a heavy vehicle actually help improve fuel economy as well, in town.

    8 3/4" from a 1/2 Ton P/U or Van For "A" Body

Even the axles are excellent to use. Unlike the C body axles, they do not have the drop size step toward the end and you can pay to have them cut and resplined. You'll end up with large bolt pattern if you do, but a lot of people go that way for disc brake conversions anyway. I know someone...

    clutch drum clearance question

X3. And pull the clutch packs apart to soak them as stated before. I watched a reverse servo eat it in a push button trans because of faulty snap ring install. Thankfully, even though it cocked in the bore, it didn't trash the push button case and the servo cracked instead of the case.

    New good converter worth it?

Also, I have a lower stall 360 counterbalanced 904 converter that came out of a 5000 mile trans. I have absolutely no use for it. If you need a neutral balance flexplate to run a counterbalance torque converter, I have like ten of them, as well. You could always knock the counterweight off of...

    New good converter worth it?

X2 I know where an O/D is in town. I'll send you a PM.

    TCI Transmission is bad

Governor valve rattling around in the large O/D bore! Brilliant. I'd like to see what they dyno these with. Makes you wonder, with all of the mishap parts installed, if they don't just put a quart of fluid in them after install. I don't understand why you would put a large housing on a small...

    Seriously!!!

400 grams is insanity on a torque converter.

    Seriously!!!

It's just a reciprocating parts weight change. When you get new parts, the pistons weigh more, counterbalancing to the crank is done or it's made up on removing weight from the cast iron rods to make up for the additional .030" of metal in piston and iron or moly and stainless rings. They have...

    Seriously!!!

73AbodEE is right. It takes an experienced shop nearly no time at all to counterbalance the torque converter. Don't pay them to do that if they don't know how and have no experience with it. The B&M can only go on one way. The six bolts on the back of the crank are not symmetrical. one of...

    TCI Transmission is bad

It happens. Worked at two collision repair shops before I did restorations and one painter that had a tattoo of a '51 Mercury (dream car of sorts) had no idea how to replace an alternator, but could do anything with a paint gun? I'm 32 at the end of this month. Not too old, but I've been...

    Seriously!!!

I think this is a simple misunderstanding of how parts relate to a 360 engine, between you and the shop. What I can gather is that your machine shop expected a counterbalanced torque converter. When you brought a neutral balanced torque converter, they told you that it would not work for the...

    TCI Transmission is bad

I wouldn't mind subletting services myself as well as for my shop, but I'm not one to plug without solicitation. I work at a restoration shop that deals primarily in Mopars and we're always happy to handle everything. I do all of the paint and body, electrical fab as well as the metal fab. My...

    TCI Transmission is bad

Good lord. It's a Torqueflite, TCI... It's not a particle collider! If you own a basic set of tools, along with a dial caliper, feeler gauges and an internal snap ring plier for the tailshaft housing collar (i've seen people do that with two flathead screwdrivers), you can build an amazing...
