6 pack style air cleaner for 4 bbl

If it helps at all, my old 440 six pack here has a shaker base. I only needed a slight bend to clear the 2 speed. These other bases would likely need notches for a 440.... The front passenger side should be the tightest for hood to lid clearance due to engine offset.

    Pop pop on exhaust side

@ 3:20 in the video you claim the pop was present with the Eddy carb. That kinda' has me leaning toward an engine issue and not a carb issue. Maybe disconnect the x pipe and determine whether it pops out one side or both?

    340 and A833 install questions

From the top, assembled, lifting the rear of the car can help.... Distributor out, hole plugged. Plug the trans tail. A deep pan may cause fit issues between the K member and firewall / pan and bell... it's real tight with a big block. I don't have issues with the fork installed. Wire it...

Rocker shims = NO rocker shaft oiling

With the shims in, was it blowing oil out the sides of the rocker stand? I'd think the holes in the shim are at least the diameter or larger than the shaft oil feed hole.

    Cam degree question

Another thing Steve. You'll need to have an indicator setup to show the #1 INTAKE lifter lobe since you won't have rockers on. Most don't have a long enough indicator tip and use a lifter to iindicate to.

    Cam degree question

I believe you'll just need to rig a piston "stop".

    Pilot bushing direction

FWIW, if some dimensions can help, I have these off a 440 Auto crank. The red is the very end of the crank. Consider the 2.120" dim. to be standard for an un-cut input shaft/bell difference. Your depth may differ depending on the crank end to block dim. ...... If you can, better off to press...

    Foging an engine

 FWIW, I fog my boat I/O engine only because it hibernates outside in the elements over winter months. I also use Stabil in all fuel for it. I've never fogged any car engines that can have run time every month or so.

Rocker Shaft Hold Downs What Ones?

The HS BB hold downs I bought recently are steel. But I did see that "aluminum" description as well. Bolts were not included. I bought Gr 8s after measuring for bolt thread engagement I wanted. Stout parts IMO. BTW, while checking different sources I also saw some complaints for some of the...

    Taking Out the Lash!

These look like possible tool marks. They appear to have a bottom. As you can see they reflect light whereas a crack won't.

How to tell a Scratch from a Crack in a Cylinder?

IMO, Looks like a scratch since it's so straight. This looks like a particle was dragged up and down the bore and it's filled up with carbon. A fresh scratch, even with depth to it, should tend to reflect light. Magnafluxing may show a deep scratch as indication, as the iron powder will bridge...

I'm not either but I believe .025" is way too much to press fit. I think you need around .002"- .003".

How to replace engine mount inserts/isolaters/bushings? Is fire necessary?

Maybe cut out enough section with a coping saw so you can collapse the remaining?

    Pistons won’t come out

Maybe take the compression rings off and push it back in so you can take some of the edge of the ridge? The rod isn't hanging on the bottom of the bore by chance?

    Harmonic balancer question?...

For some quick visual reference, you might mark the outer and inner rings together. A while back my next door neighbor's '02 Lexus was constantly squealing like a belt issue. He found what the squeal was all about one day when the balancer ring came off banging and clanging all over.

    Problem with Holley 4 bbl
