    VIBRATORY TUMBLER MEDIA??

Hey demon67, I handload my own ammo for hunting, target shooting and plinking. Much cheaper to buy the components in bulk then work up an accurate load that works well in a given rifle or pistol. The tumbler is used to clean and polish the empty brass cases before assembling the cartridge. Be...

    VIBRATORY TUMBLER MEDIA??

Crushed walnut shells work well too. Can get bags of it cheaply at any pet shop. Also a reloader here... ;)

    need a new chainsaw

Did you try adjusting the Hi/Lo idle carb settings after you swapped in the new carb? May need a special screw driver to do it. Those adjustment can definitely make a saw run crappy, hard starting, die when revving etc

    need a new chainsaw

I have a few Poulans, and 18 yo 14" and a new Poulan pro "pr4218" 18" that I can't kill. Other than maintenance no fuss no muss. Also have a 6 yo Craftsman 20" that has run well, though needed a bit of hi/lo fuel adjustments. None of them will break the bank. I am not a fan of Battery powered...

Harbor Freight 6000 Lb. Capacity Scissor Lift Review, Central Hydraulics, is it worth it?

I have had a QuickJack like that one for a few years now. Absolutely love it. And that's a great price! Pat

    Freecycling!

Buddy of mine moved back to TX, was gonna toss this, but he thought this would be cool in my garage. All it cost was some beers on the patio! Freed up some much needed shelving space for tools and parts. My wife says it looks like it's been there forever. We couldn't be happier! Pat

    Scissor lift anyone?

Oh I see. I never tried in myself, but have seen some folks use them crosswise under the car. Though not sure that would give you the access you want though. In any case, look forward to seeing what you ultimately go with. Be well, Pat

    Scissor lift anyone?

I have the same limitations in my garage gzig5, which as why I opted for the Quick Jack 5000 lbs model. It is easy to stow out of the way when not in use. Give it a look man ;) Be well, Pat

    Scissor lift anyone?

I went with the "Quick Jack" instead of the scissor lift styles. Very portable and gives full access to the drive train. Used it for repairs on the Duster, Minivan and M37. Was about $1,300 through Northern Tool Co. Absolutely 100% pleased with it. Pat

    I need a lift!

Yep. I am extremely pleased with them. Unlike the scissor style lifts, these allow full access to the entire drive train from front to back, exhaust, etc. I ordered mine from Northern Tool which had the best price at the time. Let me know if you have any questions. Be well, Pat

    I need a lift!

I can vouch for the Quickjack. Due to a low ceiling in my garage I was limited in my choices. The Quickjack with a comfortable creeper proved to be just the ticket. Made pulling and reinstalling my transmission a breeze! An added bonus is it's portable (for track use and projects on equipment up...

    Mig welder

Agreed, OP My wife got me this one a few years back. Used it to repair the floors, welded in the subframe connectors I fabbed any lots of other little projects. Gonna hit the body work with it next. Uses both flux and solid wire w/gas. Great little inexpensive welder! Pat

    Mig welder

Does your Lincoln have the hook up for gas? I also use a little Lincoln and found the flux core leaves quiet a bit of splatter/mess (The welds are solid though) and it works well on dirty metal. For cleaned up panels/floor welds I used solid core wire with gas. Gives a much cleaner weld. That...

    Experiences with MR6K-38 mid-height lift?

Yep, having the center open for trans, drive train and exhaust work was a deal breaker for me with the scissor lift styles. Worth a look for sure. Pat

    Experiences with MR6K-38 mid-height lift?

You can push the ramps in from either side Glenn. Might need a 2x4 to push it under the car from one side to the other, but they slide pretty easily. And if you have enough room to squeeze your body between the wall and you car, you'll have no problem positioning them. I must say, I am very...

    Experiences with MR6K-38 mid-height lift?

I opted for the Ranger 5000 from Northern Tool. The biggest factors for me were: 1) Portablility (Small Garage no Space, and able to take to track with me), 2) Clear access to center of the vehicle on a creeper. 3) Price $1,300...

    Welders

Yep, like Rainy I have the little Lincoln 110V. Great little welder for a weekend mechanic like me. Used it to repair the floors and weld in my subframe connectors (And many other misc tasks around the property). It'll handle anything from the thin stuff up to 1/8" material. Should work real...

Blew 200 bucks, and "yes" it was Horrid Freight

I've got several old Craftsman tool boxes, tool carts and bench. Only because my FIL worked at Sears and got them for me at crazy good prices. That said, I have no problem with Harbor Freight stuff. In fact I'll be going at lunch to pick up some grinding wheel disks, welding wire...and as always...

    low rise lift questions

Is there a vent on the fluid reservoir? If so, make sure it's opened a couple turns. Should be closed when transporting the unit. Also, mines uses Auto Transmission fluid. Pat

    2 post lift

Would love to have one, but my small garage has a steel support beam running width wise. Limits lift height. Anyone, have and/or use one off those lifts that go under the car/frame? Not scissor type but rather the ones that go under frame and allow access to center of the vehicle? Pat

Those wheel ramp things for raising a car

I have the same set from the 80's as well, only in red. Never was able to drive up them. Darn things would slide away from the wheels. Like Daves69, I'd jack up one wheel at a time. Still have them and use them on occasion, but being paranoid I always throw a set of jack stands under there for...

Hey Joey, Once our Chicagoland weather (which has been great recently) puts an end to the summer's cruise events, the kids and I have a few projects to tackle. Bedroom moves for the girls = prep, paint, molding etc. One down one to go! Lots of cars stuff = Subframe connectors, interior...
