How does he install the cloth headliner without removing the glass? The edges wrap under the edge of the window opening and get's crimped by the metal teeth under the window gasket?

Are you refering to the interior rear view, or the side mirrors? As far as I know, I don't think the interior ones are being re-poped. As for the EXACT side mirror replacement, I believe these are availaible from Year One or Laysons. If you just want replacement mirrors, Vans sells nice re-pro...

Go ahead and laugh, but I prepped my frame, primed it, and shot it with Krylon semi-gloss from a distance so it dried with a texture. Pretty good results for a backyard resto.

If your doing a dash or some other smaller items Allclad is a good in-expensive alternative. It's airbrushed over a gloss Black base coat and gives a VERY realistic Chrome finish. You'll find Allclad through various Model Car related hobby shops or suppliers.

That's what I found yesterday, the coat hook hole.... Good thing I didn't go after it with a knife. ESPECIALLY after all I went through getting the headliner in! I should be good to go now. Thanks to everyone whom replied and contributed. :toothy10:

I too have a bench seat and the retractors will NOT fit between the seats and the frame rail. Today I fabricated a mounting plate out of 3/8" steel. I'll have a full how-to installation for those of you whom still come here for this kind of stuff.... :-D And yes, I'd LOVE pictures Steve...

I appreciate the reply, but I have NO IDEA where the hole would be in your pictures! I was kinda hoping for a reference from, let's say.... the end of the interior roof rail trim forward to the mount, and how many inches up from the trim. Could you check again and send me the measurements? Thanks!

I need a favor... Could someone measure the location of the upper seat belt anchor in the roof rail on their Fastback for me? I installed my headliner without marking the bolt hole location. Feeling throught the material I *think* I found the opening, but I really don't want to start poking...

There's a clock adjustment cable comes out through the dash. They usually aren't too hard to find on e-Bay or possibly from a well stocked buddy here...
