    Modern Seat Belts?

Here's a short write-up on a 3 pt. install I did a while back. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=48125&highlight=seat+belts The only piece of info that isn't clear is that I mounted the reel bolt through the bracket and into the rocker. The lower reel is mounted in 2...

how in the world did this git made!?

The day I had my sub-frame connectors welded in, there was a V-8 Vega in the shop. It was getting a set of those gauges installed and wired. And for the life of me, I can't remember the name. If no one helps out, I can call the shop tomorrow and ask.... :read2:

    Steering Wheel Diameter

Anyone know off the top of their head the stock steering wheel diameter for an A body? I have a smaller than stock sized Grant wheel now I'd like to swap out, preferably something with billet in the spokes and a leather wrap, of a larger diameter. Damn manual steering.... :-k

    66 Shoulder belts

If you look at the second link that was posted by RDJ you'll see my installation thread. I used a set of van conversion retractable seat belts which look exactly like the one's XV Motorsports sells. XV's price is individual, so they cost the same per pair as the WESCO's I have...

Who has cheap good carpet ? ? ?

Is your car an auto or stick? I have a brand new Black carpet that I didn't use in my Barracuda because I needed the rear cargo carpet, which wasn't availiable seperately. I ordered a completed carpet kit and have a new one left over. I *think* mine is for a 4 spd. PM me and let me know...

    who makes rearview mirrors?

Are you refering to the interior rear view, or the side mirrors? As far as I know, I don't think the interior ones are being re-poped. As for the EXACT side mirror replacement, I believe these are availaible from Year One or Laysons. If you just want replacement mirrors, Vans sells nice re-pro...

    Seatbelts---reuse or new?

This might be of some help to you: http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=48125&highlight=Seat+Belt+Install I recommend using the SEARCH option in the header toolbar up top. I've been reading posts on seat belts, headliners, and glass installation questions and I myself have...

68 Barracuda Dash Frame - Gloss or satin?

Go ahead and laugh, but I prepped my frame, primed it, and shot it with Krylon semi-gloss from a distance so it dried with a texture. Pretty good results for a backyard resto.

    Paint that looks like chrome?

If your doing a dash or some other smaller items Allclad is a good in-expensive alternative. It's airbrushed over a gloss Black base coat and gives a VERY realistic Chrome finish. You'll find Allclad through various Model Car related hobby shops or suppliers.

    Dynamat or Fatmat??

One of the first things I noticed was how much quieter it was inside the car. And as far as heat, I finally got my heap together in Oct. so it wasn't really all that hot out. But there was a noticeable difference in how warm it WASN'T inside the car from the exhaust. 100 sq. ft. is enough to...

    3-Point Seat Belt Install

All it takes is removing, and re-installing, 4 bolts..... DONE. There is some fabricating of the extension brackets though, but the retractable belt is much more comfortable. I did the drivers side earlier today, and naturally, I had to road test the new belt. It felt just as comfortable as my...

    3-Point Seat Belt Install

Thanks for the clarification on federal seat belt requirements. I myself am a firm believer in safety belts, but I truely don't want a debate over the pro's & con's of everyone's personal belt usage. Now all I have to do is contact Hagerty and up the insurance coverage so the car can sit all...

    3-Point Seat Belt Install

Seat belts were federally mandated in 1967. As for the how-to thread, I enjoy helping our membership with procedures I learn first-hand. I'm so sick of people giving advice without any information. That's why I have over 800 photographs of my car going together. Somewhere there's someone...

    3-Point Seat Belt Install

A few days ago I promised a how-to story on installing 3-point retractable seat belts in my `68 Fastback. This same procedure should apply to ALL Mopars that had those horrible 2 piece lap/shoulder belt - bondage/S&M devices that came from the factory. If your a numbers matching / date code...

    Fastback Owners Seat Belt Anchor

Send me your mailing address.... I made a second set. Nothing over the top pretty, but functional. Hit them with a quickie coat of paint (or send `em to Leanna...) and you should be good to go. 8)

    Fastback Owners Seat Belt Anchor

That's what I found yesterday, the coat hook hole.... Good thing I didn't go after it with a knife. ESPECIALLY after all I went through getting the headliner in! I should be good to go now. Thanks to everyone whom replied and contributed. :toothy10:

    Fastback Owners Seat Belt Anchor

I too have a bench seat and the retractors will NOT fit between the seats and the frame rail. Today I fabricated a mounting plate out of 3/8" steel. I'll have a full how-to installation for those of you whom still come here for this kind of stuff.... :-D And yes, I'd LOVE pictures Steve...

    Fastback Owners Seat Belt Anchor

I appreciate the reply, but I have NO IDEA where the hole would be in your pictures! I was kinda hoping for a reference from, let's say.... the end of the interior roof rail trim forward to the mount, and how many inches up from the trim. Could you check again and send me the measurements? Thanks!

    Fastback Owners Seat Belt Anchor

I need a favor... Could someone measure the location of the upper seat belt anchor in the roof rail on their Fastback for me? I installed my headliner without marking the bolt hole location. Feeling throught the material I *think* I found the opening, but I really don't want to start poking...
