Don't overlook those antique malls for tools

Don't forget local pawn shops. I got great deals on some shop tools and a bass guitar amp.

    lets talk about mig welders??

I have a Hobart Handler 135. It can use solid (gas) and flux wire. I use gas for sheet metal work and fine welds and use the flux for non-critical welding, like fences, etc.

Harbor Freight - Gems and Junk

I am not a professional mechanic and I usually don't have another pair of hands available when working on my vehicles. I was telling my wife about how different some things are today compared to when I began working on cars in the early 1970s. To remove and replace an engine, we had to go to...

SAND-CASTING: For those of you who love the Unnecessary

Cool. I have been studying how to cast things with aluminum. I have an idea for electric side mirrors for our old A-bodies plus some Art Deco switch and socket plates for the house.

    Toolbox Pics

I'm in the process of finishing my garage/shop while working on various projects, so I am embarassed to say that my boxes look like the bottom of a woman's purse right now. I need to do some re-organizing!

Help Me Plan Out the New & Improved Shop

All good suggestions. I would definitely cut down any tall trees within falling distance of any structure. A simple thunderstorm could break off a limb that could penetrate the roof. If you like trees around, think of evergreens or those that do not grow too tall with big limbs.

    Let's see your garage!

I saw Steve Juliano's collection written up a couple of times in the MoPar mags. He searched for and found a number of the old prototype design exercise cars. Real cool. I wonder "how he made his millions."

    Garage Workbench Dimensions

I have some work benches in the back of my shop. However, I am planning to construct a smaller one on wheels that I can move next to a car project. With this set-up, I'll be able to use it for assembly/disassembly without having parts all over the floor. It will have a hook-up for electric...
