I had my manifolds ceramic coated. I've been very pleased with how it holds up. Unfortunately, you would have to remove them for blasting and coating.

Waldron's made a complete stainless steel exhaust system for my 1970 Duster 340.

1970 Duster 340's did not come from the factory with exhaust tips.....they were not an option. They all would have the turn down exhaust pipes as show on the blue car above.

I had to cut my flapper off of the shaft before I could remove the counterweight and shaft.

That rattling is very annoying. I figured I'd gain another horsepower or 2 by removing exhaust turbelence caused by the retained flapper :D

On my car, I decided to remove the heat riser flap but maintain the counterweight externally for original appearance. You will need to cut the welds on the internal flapper in order to slide the shaft and counterweight out. I simply replaced the shaft and welded it on the inside of the manifold...

I have the same question about the crushed corner. I always thought that it was for drive shaft clearance but I've seen pictures of restored cars with the crush on the outside.

Thanks for the positive feedback retractable. I pretty much have decided to go with a Waldon stainless steel system for my dual exhaust application. I hate to do exhaust work!

I read through the Waldron site. They produce a Duster stainless system with 14 gauge T409. Is that suitable SS for exhaust components?

Even after rebuilding my 340 heat riser many years ago, it rattled and drove me crazy. When it came time to restore my exhaust manifolds, I debated about repairing it again or just remove it. Rebuild kits for 340's are expensive and I believe that the 273 rebuild kits are also expensive and...

I see that Waldron's in MI sells stainless exhaust systems for mopars. I don't know anything about the company or their products.

Does anybody make an accurate reproduction dual exhaust system in stainless steel for a 1970 Duster 340? I realize that it would be pricey but the durability would make it worth it. Any input would be appreciated.
