Here's some pics of my install with the Ried case in case you're interested. I still have some cooler line routing and wiring to take care of, but this gives you some idea.

I believe the OP is going the six speed route, I'm sticking with four. I have a full manual, forward pattern valve body with a trans brake. I went with the 80 simply because I'm familiar with it!

Just remember that once the pump face is machined (I don't know how much will have to come off to make it flat) the converter will be closer to the flex plate by the amount machined off as you've essentially pulled the bell housing back. this may cause problems with proper "pull-out" of the...

    TF727 and stock converter

Sorry if this is the wrong forum, but I have a 727 with a stock converter that I removed from my Barracuda. I took the car in trade, so I don't really know the history of the transmission. I know it has a shift kit and it was functioning when removed. What I would like to know is what it's...

If you had the choice which would you choose?

I voted GM, but not the 700R4. I've got a 4L80 minus the E in my '68 Barracuda. I'll get pics up as soon as it's done. Quicktime Performance makes a great adapter bell and PTC is building a custom converter to fit the crank pilot and proper mounting feet so I don't have to shim. Good gear spread...
