And more. Idea is, use up the new, bought parts and go as far as I can on interior, etc. Right now, learning how to straighten, polish and paint aluminum parts. . .so I can do the grilles. Eek! The 'Vert; well, just imagine that up on jack stands now, with the front end suspension tore out...

THAT- that is my next project: how to rebuild that out of old and new, similar parts. Darned if I can afford an NOS one!

Ladies and Gents, thanks for all that you have done to help me along. Just reading what you have managed to get done- or dream of getting done- has kept me coming back to the garage and at least thinking about it. I appreciate that- and you all. Still got a lot of items to finish (read...

The dash bezel is not my own work- I managed to pick up one of Mr. G's last ones last Spring- before the Wifey shut me down on buying parts :-)

Managed to pick up a in-dash tach to replace the vacuum gauge that was in place there, wired in just as the schematics called for:

Pictures of the back aren't so good- what is here if you can see it is Redfin's IVRS (?), and complete clean and rewire of the dash. . . . . .a good copy (finally!) of the 1967 handbook came in handy tracing all the wires. . . . . .replacement vacuum switch, 8 ohm speaker, and repop glove box.

And, started to do the insulation from EZ-Cool. Goes down pretty well. Doubling it up from the firewall to the trunk, single in the walls and doors. . . . . .you can see it behind the units and behind/above the steering wheel. . . . . .got the windshield wipers refurbished too, with grease...

Learned to use a rivet gun to repair those fresh air doors. Came out pretty good- and seem to be pretty rugged too. Got the Rubber in for all the doors, the trunk, the hood; managed to get the rear glass put in. . .all these items I had purchased before the crunch. . .

As you can see, got the heater and A/C cores rebuilt via those kits sold through Harden's Muscle Car World. Alas, he has apparently sold his inventory to National Parts Depot.

Evening All. I haven't had anything to post here for quite some time. 2012 has Not Been A Good Year for the Reed clan in Central Texas: parents' hospitalizations, Mother's death, Dad's moving in with my brother for care. . .and a heck of a lot more that I won't go into. Suffice to say, Red...

Ineed frame tie advice for the '67 fastback please!

Without a doubt- all of you on here have sold me on them as a necessity. As far as mine being "out of shape", I have hit stuff with it, jounced heck out of it on hills and railroad tracks, run through ditches, got stuck in ditches sideways, overloaded the interior with too many people and/or...

Ineed frame tie advice for the '67 fastback please!

See, those are the ones that I saw previously, but did not bookmark. I like the way they involve the floorpan in the welding process and help stiffen both the flex there as well as making the subframes unable to flex at the undercar endpoints. . .and I have seen mine flex more than I thought it...

Ineed frame tie advice for the '67 fastback please!

I have been reading up on articles having to do with frame ties from Allpar, Mopar Muscle Magazine, Mopar Performance, etc. Some are bolt-in, some weld, some fabricated, some pre made. . . Currently looking at AMD ties which are weld in. Question for me is, which ones? I am looking to have...

Tough Going but done- and Man! Is this thing tired! Metal Fatigue discussion time. .

Thanks Jaws- will look at them too. Just a bit overwhelmed by all I took off and will have to replace. The motor is an '88 truck, fresh overhaul in 1995, parked in 2000 with 40k on it- and the ARP studs used on the intake were breaking in the head! Crap studs and not impressed.

Pics taken, just not downloaded yet. Thanks for all that gave me advice about a load leveler for motor/tranny pulling- worked like a charm. "Red" is pulled down to just a few firewall components, a front bumper, and heater and dash assembly- couple of more hours. Body repair and...

Pulling a 318 and 904 together- advice please!

Boy, I'll say! I laughed hard enough to get tears! Now THAT is Southern Engineering at it's finest- plow straight ahead. . .over, under, or THROUGH to the finish. That's how to get the mission done! Q: your frame ties- any rubbing on the body, anything you did to seal rust from their...

Pulling a 318 and 904 together- advice please!

Thanks kindly for the compliment about the daughter! She is a proud owner (sorta- guess who is paying for/upgrading it. . .;-)) of a '67 slant 6 'vert and learning how to use tools properly, check fluids and change oil, etc. I think she will be responsible enough to drive it (some) to school...

She is a '67- no marker lights and "Plymouth" spelled out across the front. (Got to love those "cudas") Thanks for being so kind about her current state. 8) "Red" has 314K miles on her so far. She has been in the family all her life.
