I actually have a console that came in this car and is red... I just don't like it much. I'd also have to butcher it a bit since it was originally for an automatic and my shifter is a straight shifter, not offset...so I'd have to modify that as well.
Yeah.. .I wasn't going to use it as is...was planning to butcher it up pretty good to make it fit both the top of the trunk lines as well as the angles on the end of the trunk. However, after looking at this some more...I'm just gonna sell it on eBay..double my $$ :)
Decided to get it on the road so I can drive it before I die.... :)
Started bolting on parts necessary to get it inspected, so I'll be driving it even if it won't be in final paint or a finished interior.
Things are closer. Having an issue with idle. Can't get it to idle under 1200 RPM. Also, can't ever seem to open the choke 100%. I'm going to replace the carb spacer as it's probably as old as I am... Still runs a little rich, but it runs good when it runs.

Fabricated a stout brace for the z-bar support. Made out of a couple pieces of angle iron and a chunk of steel. Works like a charm.

I fixed a little of the damage.. and got it painted this weekend. Still need to paint the k-member, master cylinder and steering...but it's getting there..
Started with the engine compartment today. Some paint stripper, a couple scrapers, a drill, some wire wheels, sandpaper and some rattle can red oxide primer....
OH... and a little buzz from the fumes..
