Thanks guys! I'll do some experimenting today. Appreciate the help!

    between circuit miss?

Just checked a few things out this afternoon. Currently at 1200 RPM idle, my primaries are ONLY open by 1/2 turn of the idle screw. In other words if I back off the idle screw 1/2 turn, my primary blades are completely closed. My secondary idle adjustment is open a bit more, obviously. Thinking...

    between circuit miss?

Yeah, I was thinking of running a long hose through the window to check vacuum at cruise. I had this same problem years ago and never nailed it down. Can't let that happen again. Oh yeah, distrib locked at 33 degrees. Last 3 motors I have had were run with locked out timing. No problem.

    between circuit miss?

Have a HP950 on this new motor. Good carb Ive had for years. Dyno session went great. so now in the car I have this annoying miss right around 1800 to 2000, only at cruising speed(very light throttle). I think its having trouble between the idle and main circuit. Give it a wee bit more throttle...

    AFR guage

Put the bung on inside of passenger side of the header. Ran it today and all seems well, installation-wise. I'm a bit rich at idle. Don't know about WOT yet. Need to have some room when you're just stomping damn near 600 horses. It was my first ride since the engine was on the dyno, but it...

    AFR guage

Just finished up the install today. Well almost. Just have to connect hot and ground wires. You have no idea how hard it was to drill a big *** hole in my brand new TTI's..........but it looks nice. A little Duplicolor aluminum around the bung did the trick. Will see tomorrow how she works.

Thanks Mr d1970! Summit did match the Ebag price and the AEM is on its way. Might even show up tomorrow! Sometimes I think they ship before you hang up the phone :canada:

    AFR guage

That's what I wanted to hear. Will call Summit tomorrow and see if they'll match Ebag price. I do run leaded race fuel on occasion, so it's gonna be tight where I weld the bung. Pretty sure I want it before the header evac tube. I measured my number 7 tube and it looks like about 34 or 35...

    AFR guage

I just checked it out on Summit's website. Man those instructions are ridiculously complex. For my intended use it appears that i just need to weld in the bung, hook up the gauge and go. ....I think.

    AFR guage

I want one just for tuning purposes. I guess I'm looking for one that will just show me "real time" AFR, whether it be idling, cruising or WOT. I sure don't need something that's a pain in the *** to work, or something to obsess over. It seems like with today's gasoline, it's just too hard to...

    AFR guage

wondering if somebody could recommend a wideband air/fuel gauge kit. There are so many to choose from. I'm really looking for something simple and to the point, for a carbureted engine.

    electric fuel pump location ?

Tanks Inc. Everything you need except lines for around $500 bucks. Think about it. Every new car made since God knows has had an in tank pump. Reliable, dependable, and quiet.

    electric fuel pump location ?

    In the tank. That's best.

Tanks Inc-who's using it for non fuel injection and a few other questions

If I recall, you have to set up the sending unit individually for each tank. I followed the instructions and mine has been accurate as hell. .....maybe I just got lucky. I do remember the guy telling me the set up was pretty important.

Tanks Inc-who's using it for non fuel injection and a few other questions

Put mine in early last spring. Perfect fit, flawless performance so far. Very quiet. Gauge is dead on the money. I did buy their whole set up. Tank, pump, and sender. Ordered it from Summit. Best price at that time.

    Return style pressure regulator.

I have the Holley billet one and it's really not very consistent. Have to adjust it every week or so. I wouldn't recommend it.

    Air gap intake restoration

I think so too. Nothing fancy that I did either. Just good prep and paint. As you can see from the one in the car, it lightens up a bit with age or heat. Maybe both. Nice easy clean up, which I like. One little drop of oil on raw aluminum and you're done! Ain't ever getting it out. On painted...

    Air gap intake restoration

If possible, get it blasted. If not, just clean it really good with lacquer thinner, brushes, etc. Then prime it with Duplicolor Ceramic engine primer and paint it with Duplicor Ceramic cast aluminum paint. It will come out beautiful and once in the car no one will ever know it's been painted...

    It's Here It's Here

Awe come on, Glenn.....it was beautiful today. I was off today. I'd have been more than happy to drive it around for you. you know, so it can "self learn". I woulda took it real easy, too! hehe.

Same stuff under my Demon, as you saw.......sending unit ,in my opinion was a piece of cake. And if set up properly, is dead nuts accurate. Just sayin'....

    Hello Quick Fuel, Goodbye Holley

Yeah. Their tech support was very condescending to say the least. I actually thought it was cheaply made, too. Cheap hardware, springs, etc. Never should have strayed from my HP 950. So glad it's down the road on its way back to Summit.

    Hello Quick Fuel, Goodbye Holley

That' it brutha. Sticking with my Holley. Runs too good to fart around. Sure as hell not worth 900 bucks for a couple horsepower. Don't know what the hell I was thinking........ I am joining that forum, though. Might learn something.

    Hello Quick Fuel, Goodbye Holley

I will, Justin. I did check it out.......man those guys are really into carbs. It's like a whole new language for God's sake. Ya know you spend years doing this **** and think you're pretty good. Then you find a website like that and it's like you know nothing. Amazing.

    Hello Quick Fuel, Goodbye Holley

I gave up. Put the Holley back on today. Took a quick blast to remind myself how good it ran BEFORE I got the QF bug. Far as the QF stumble, it's definitely AIR. It wants more air just off idle. I tried everything I could do and was unsuccessful. With the secondaries adjusted almost closed, it...

    Hello Quick Fuel, Goodbye Holley

850 flows more than the HP 950. Read it many places..... Distrib locked out, my engine wants 30 degrees. I know it sounds low, but the dyno proved it. 110CL cam installed at 104 may have something to do with the 30 degree thing. Anyhow the bigger idle air bleeds got my mixture screws to 1 1/4...

    Hello Quick Fuel, Goodbye Holley

Well, spent the afternoon in sheer frustration. Changed the idle air bleeds from 73 to the 78's that were in my Holley. Went from 33 squirters to 31. Got it idling real nice, pulling 12 inches vacuum at 1200 RPM........just like always. Off idle stumble better but still there and I just...

    Hello Quick Fuel, Goodbye Holley

Oh yeah, it's got a secondary adjustment. The carb is waaay off, man. Gonna mess with it today and see if I can get it close. I think before drilling the throttle blades I'll just send the friggin thing back. Frustrating.
