Does a HD rear spring/shackle hanger exist for a 68 Dart?

I happen to have a 64 Galaxie 500 here in the yard. The 63-64 Fords are neat cars.

Does a HD rear spring/shackle hanger exist for a 68 Dart?

I looked closely at the box and these are the Mancini versions. A little welding and they are good to go.

Does a HD rear spring/shackle hanger exist for a 68 Dart?

Hi Andy, The first business I checked for these shackle hangers was yours. I have used several sets of B body front hangers. This car uses a Dr Diff 3/4" offset hanger kit spaced back 1/2" to fit the j60-15 M&H DOT bias ply tires or a 28x9 slick. A 275/60/15 would have required trimming...

Does a HD rear spring/shackle hanger exist for a 68 Dart?

Hello, I am in the process of upgrdaing my 68 GTS to offset spring hangers, cal tracs and a j60-15 rear tire. Does anyone make a rear spring hanger that is more stout than the flimsy OEM part? I looked at the Mopar Performance replacements online and they dont look much better than stock...

    Steering ratio doubler advice.

I ran a 16:1 box with fast ratio pitman idler for a few summers. I think it was 12 something to one. It wasn't horrible with skinny front tires and a big block under the hood. For reference a fast ratio p/s box is 14:1.

Quick Ratio vs Standard Pitman and Idler Arms

I had that combo for a while. It wasnt bad.

Quick Ratio vs Standard Pitman and Idler Arms

The best thing to do IMO is switch to the 73-76 centerlink/pitman/idler and run a 16:1 manual steering box. Much more room on the later setup

    New Upper A Arm Troubles

Can the OP post pics of the other UCA? Problem or no problem they should be checking that stuff. A dismissive or defensive attitude is not good customer service. Somebody needs to do the rod test on a car and see how those align. I was not under the impression the UCA bolts are on the same...

    Drag link/steering link 72 Duster

The tie rods and sleeves are interchangeable. To my knowledge no 73-76 center link is reproduced. Ithink I was able to use the 73-76 power steering idler arm on my 68 gts manual steering box. You will need to verify the pitman arm interchangeability.

    New Upper A Arm Troubles

I have circa 2012ish Firm Feel tubular UCA's that fit excellent. I have three sets of QA1 tubular LCA's in service with no issues. I have on car with a $130 set of ebay UCA's (not the QA1 clone) and after a few modifications (grooving poly bushings for full perimeter grease propagation...

Need assistance with a shopping list to convert '68 GTS to 73-76 center link

I have been unable to confirm the difference, if any, between ear Y and late manual steering boxes. All of the suppliers I have looked into only offer one box.

Need assistance with a shopping list to convert '68 GTS to 73-76 center link

Howdy, One of my winter upgrades on the GTS is changing the center link to a 73-76 style for ease of maintenance (header/clutch removal). I currently have a 20:1 manual box in the car. Will the '68 steering box work with the later style pitman arm? In addition to finding a used 73-76 center...

    Camber adjustment/rack and pinion

Assuming everything is in the correct position in the first place. And then there is reality. I do alignments often and depending on the car what I stated above is true in my experience. Obviously taking the adjustment to an extreme will cause binding, etc. My last alingment was yesterday...

    Camber adjustment/rack and pinion

What problems are you having? Also what specs are you shooting for? Adjustable strut rods cnn help get the desired negative camber while achieving positive caster sweep. In my experience adding length to the strut rod will increase positive caster with the rear uca cam all in and the front cam...

    Upper Control Arms Dust Boots/Bushings

I willcompare Ken is the small upper ball joint press in? I have yet to replace one because they always get swapped to later 73 up style. Another thing I have noticed is that some of the tubular aftermarket control arms have the locator for the upper ball joint boot and some do not. As an...

    Wheel Hop

Every time I had wheel hop issues it was cured by shocks and shock tuning. No slapper bars, snubber or clamps required. Anything beyond that and I move to a Caltrac/mono setup.

Steering effort for manual 16:1 - should it be this high?

My 383 4-speed '68 GTS has a 16:1 box with fast ratio arms. G70-14 polyglass on the front. It has the original steering wheel and 100% stock front end, iron heads and exhaust manifolds. It's heavy and quite fun. Definitelt takes some muscle and finess in a stick car. That steering wheel is...

    Idler Arm major play!

    Idler Arm major play!

Most often the idler arm comes with a shim for the between the idler and K Frame. You can only tighten it up so much before the upper and lower bolt hole no longer align or end up in a bind. It is S.O.P. to shim the idler on a 68-up idler arm. You don't want that thing floating up and down on...
