    68 GTS hood lettering

Can't go by my car. All front end sheet metal was replaced in 1970. The hood on ours is a '69 as pointed out by HemiSSDart when he stopped by the house several weeks ago. The letters were better than yours, but still not quite straight. My fenders are worse. We'll be addressing this when we do...

Does the dash have to be in to install windshield

No. I installed the dash in my old Dart by myself with the reversed hardware as the windshield was in and I wasn't going to remove it. We may have used two people when that dash went into my son's Dart as he was older by that time.

Does the dash have to be in to install windshield

Very simple. The first time I put a Barracuda dash in a Dart the windshield was in and I didn't want to remove it.

    contour paint stripper

I have used my HF stripper for several hours, mostly on metal tubing (2, 3.5, and 4 inch square) for my gate project. One pass is about all it took. The steel got a little rusty between purchase and use. I also used it to strip some body filler off the Barracuda. I will be using it on the GTS...

    contour paint stripper

I'm willing to bet (a small amount) that the Eastwood and HF tools come out of the same plant on the same assembly line. Drums are around $15 at HF. Drum life depends on what you are stripping.

    contour paint stripper

I've got the HF one. Works well, but also has its own limitations. I like a combination of the drum sander, DA, and media blasting. Then again, I have a good compressor.

What is the piece called that goes here?

Arm burner trim, AKA belt trim.

    HELP ME UNDERSTAND SKIM COATING

My old '67 fastback was like that on the right side, but it was due to incredibly poor body work. The right quarter had been damaged in an accident and then a monkey with a hammer stretched things farther. Lots of mud on the quarter which now did not match the near perfect door. So, mud the...

    Eastwood contour drum sander

I also bought the HF unit. I haven't used it on a car yet, but it sure cleaned up some metal I had for a new gate. It looks to be identical to the Eastwood surfacer and is probably manufactured by the same company.

68 Barracuda fastback trunk recoil adjustment

As I recall those are the adjustment. I did this on my old '67 fastback, but that was 25 years ago. I might be able to see on my son's fastback that is sitting in my side yard.

Trunk gap problem after new 1/4's

Sounds like the body shop/resto shop just slapped them on. I've been involved in the swap of quarters, roof, dutchman on a '73 (or '74) Challenger. We had to modify some parts to make them fit. Was also involved in putting lower quarter patch panels on my Barracuda along with trunk extensions...

Inner Panel Rust Treatment - Decklid

See if you can have it dipped. That's the only way to get to the rust in the crevices.

68 Barracuda trunk hinge bolt retainer

No, there should be two bolts.

    Dart rear quarter style lines

Take a look at that line just above the rear wheel. That is the biggest reason I never got the horizontal stripe back on the car after this paint job (never went back for a whole host of reasons, but that's a completely different story). They spent at least 32 hours blocking the car to have this...

    68 side marker gaskets

I've had mine out of the GTS a few times over the years, but it's been a while. As I recall I just hand tightened them. You might want to take a wrench and go just a little tighter, but not much.

Wish I knew someplace good to buy single-stage paint economically

Right here and will ship to you. I've used their paint and it seems ok. It's not best quality, but it will work. I have their midnight blue for my Barracuda convertible. Also, at one time (not sure how it is today) you could still get Imron and Centari from boat dealers here in California...

    1967 Barracuda 383 and "S" emblem location

I scored some emblems that I had forgot even existed (440 four barrel) and now need a template for the 383 four barrel emblems (I am assuming that the studs are in the same location) if anybody could help out. Thanks.

    Infamous reversing dash frame screw

Yes, you have to cut the u-nuts, too. This is with the windshield still installed.

    Infamous reversing dash frame screw

Yes, it is worth it. You never know when you may have to take it back apart.

    Minimum Air Compressor Size

I bought a Quincy 5hp/60 gal/4 cyl./2-stage two years ago. Total with tax was about $1,400. Made in USA, too. 15.7CFM at 90psi. I also use my old tank (60 gal) as an auxiliary tank. I never run out of air these days.

68 Barracuda Hood Safety Latch Spring

I've got a few safety latches here in Fresno, but most of my parts are stuffed into corners and hard to find, but I'll be out there later today. I can compare to my Barracuda. I think most of mine are from Darts.

    72 duster dash question

Did that with the pad for the '68 GTS back in the 1980s. It was $95 and the repair was terrible. Foam pulled too hard in the middle of the pad so it's not straight. I ran it because it was what we had, but I've got a perfect original in the garage (probably won't be perfect the first time the...

    72 duster dash question

Probably not a metal frame like they are supposed to have. I've heard that some are plastic frames.
