    904 fluid capacity?

I just installed a 904 in a 66 valiant last weekend. I always go by feel. I poured one quart in the TC and 4 in the pan, then started it up and poured as much as it would take to fill, which ended up being 7 quarts. Theres lots of good info here and I agree with the stock specs provided most...

    727 Converter Question

The weight you are referring to is necessary for overall balance of the converter itself to keep it a neutral balance converter. An external balance converter will have big weights on either side of the drain plug. If this is the case, knock them off if you don't need them and you're golden...

    Strange question

Thanks for your help. I'll check the driveshaft out. I'm positive now everything's ok except for the shaft.

    Strange question

Ok definitely feels tighter with the wheels off. There is a slight movement but that may be normal. Thanks that makes sense. The only other thing I noticed is the whole rear end is not centered perfectly. The drivers side wheel fits my three fingers(index to ring) loosely whereas I can barely...

    Strange question

It is a cone. I can run out and pull the tires off to see if it feels tighter and we can go from there. I just can't help but feel like its looser than it should be. Who knows, maybe I'm worrying because of the driveshaft issue. I drove it way too long before even thinking the driveshaft was the...

    Strange question

Based on your answer, I'm thinking the output shaft is ok, as it was pretty solid with the driveshaft installed and bottomed out. Now the rear, with the driveshaft removed, the gears feel loose. This feeling remains with the driveshaft installed. If I were to rotate the tire or driveshaft...

    Strange question

So here's the story. I have been chasing a vibration for quite some time and I'm wondering if I've damaged the trans or rear in chasing it. Nothing is broken, just have some questions. First, the car is a 1966 Plymouth valiant with a 66 commando 273, tci 727, and 8.75 rear with 3.23 gears...

Haha I was wondering myself, no way no one said anything yet.

A torque converter, flex plate question, and install question..

I've never had a new converter come with oil, but if you fell better, dump it and put your oil. People say about one quart. I just fill it till it seems enough, then install on trans shaft. Spinning left and right as you install may help seat it. You must be sure it is seated all the way. Bolt...
