    OK I think I'm catchin on a bit here - the SBP A Body 8.75 distance from the bearing to the wheel mount is shorter than the . . .BBP 8.75 or 8.25 axles ? Sorry I'm a friggin idiot and not quite getting it yet. You can't use the 8.25 A Body axles in the 8.75 right? or can you . . . ???:dontknow:

    Have you done the 8 1/4 Backing plate to 8 3/4 Axle Tube end change yet? I'm in same situation have a drum to drum 8 3/4 SBP and what's in the (73) is a 8 1/4 BBP. I was wondering too if the backing plates from the 1/4 would swap on to the 3/4. Please let us know how it works out for you...

    3:23 or 3:55s were the std for 340 cars. Give the drive shaft a turn and count how many times the wheel spins. 3 and 1/4 turns it's a 23 - 3 and 1/2 it's a 55
