    I'd like to know the Good the bad and the ugly of the nine and the quarter Dana as it pertains to performance use. If you were building a 3200 lbs bracket car, 550 horsepower and about the same torque would you consider it as your differential. Do you feel it stronger than an 8 and 3/4 742.

    I can't comment on the ballooning converter but with nitrous you have torque in a bottle and do not see a lot of benefits to running a high gear ratio unless the car is being built specifically to race. I think at 3:55 or 3:54 and with your camshaft specs would be a sweet setup

    MY feeling is all is ok the tras was set up that way and could be adjusted as previously posted but nothing to be concerned about the down side is a transmission set up like that will be somewhat hard on u joints but that's a small price to pay for High performance transmission.

    I would say 2800 to3300 should be right in the area your combo needs ..the taller your rear gear is the stall can be a little less also your rear tire size is a factor .

    calculated 350s most the time or switch to 430s and here we go! four speed trans.

    I have had A four speed for over 30 years and as you know a good one is ...well nothing like it, but its a love hate relation ship and if you want low maintenance stick with a auto .but if ripen throw a box is to you what it is to me dump the clutch and get some!!
