What is going on with Trick Flow??

I think the issue is the stores are out of stock because the product is not coming from China. A road trip to an empty warehouse won't help. A LOT of custom auto parts manufacturers/suppliers are backed up. People were staying home due to Covid and starting projects. It didn't help that...

    CPPA headers

    Have you looked at Trickflow?

    Darn oil pan

@Jim Lusk I know the 73-76 parts (pitman, cross link, idler) invert the studs compared to the earlier parts. Do they lower the cross link? Or does it end up in the same relative height?

    Need a fix for this:

There are after market pre-made shields available that use the existing lower MC studs/nuts to attach. Maybe Mancini Racing or AR Engineering?

    400 stroker rookie

Well, you Chevy guys are used to having to add things like girdles, screw-in rocker studs, etc. Mopars are different, they didn't skimp on engineering things right. The B engine has a stout bottom end, better than the RB, the crank is well supported. I'm not a big block guy either but I would...

    1/4 mile Shift Point

A 383 stroke is 3-3/8". A 340 stroke is 3-5/16". A difference of only 1/16" or 1/32" on the radius. I kinda look at a 383 as a bigger 340. If it's in good shape I wouldn't be worried to 6000 rpm. But as already stated, running some documented test runs is your best bet. You might consider a...

400 block is it cheaper to buy stroker kit

Is he going to turn the 440 crank mains down to 400 bearing diameter? Or bore the 400 block and caps to 440 bearing diameter?

    400 with 440 crank

Chuck Senatore, the guy who founded Muscle Motors wrote a book about Big Block Mopars. The guy literally built hundreds of them and I don't remember the exact words because I haven't read it for a long time but the 451 combo was his favorite BB. I'm pretty sure he's also an ME. The B engine...

    Valve covers with clear tops

Yeah, saw Charlie Westcott doing this on his Warfish Hemis about 7-8 yrs ago. He was always tinkering. Probably a good idea to take a quick look at your valve train oiling but not durable.

    69 383 Performance

Carter style (now Edelbrock) 4 barrel carbs have metering rods that stick through the main jets. The metering rods have steps of different diameters. The AFB style has 2 diameters and the AVS has 3. I'm pretty sure the Thermoquad has three also. Vacuum working against a spring on the top of the...

    Timing set opinions anyone....

Just throwing this out there for general information. Trickflow was a local company who I believe started with a small block Ford head. But now Summit owns Trickflow. They bought them out.

Chain drive vs Jesel for big cam, 7000 RPM

That's funny. The typical Cheby street driver around here runs a gear drive just to sound "cool" driving through the local cruises past all the lawnchairs. No other reason. It could be a stock 350 with headers in a Nova but it's got to have that sound. I like that the typical Mopar guy tends to...

    Cleaning up my intake

I guess I'm pretty much a Mopar tradionalist. When I see bare aluminum intakes, I think Chevy. Like the original Z28's, vettes and others. When I see engine-colored intakes, I think Mopar. The factory 340-6 and 440-6 alum manifolds were block color. And I prefer the stealth or sleeper look...

Big Block 400 stroker .060 what CID ???

If a stock bore in a 400 block is 4.342. And you are .060 over (4.402), using a 440 crank at 3.75, then you have 456 C.I. Rod length, deck height, etc. does not affect the displacement. Only bore and stroke. .07 over would be 458. pi x r^2 x stroke x 8 = C.I.
