I understsand your pessimism, but I'm not sure you actually hate to be negative.

Just got back from PRI, new info on the Trick Flow Small Block Heads!

Hey All: Was beginning to suppose these were vaporware, but it looks like TFS has made some changes to these since they were announced at SEMA last year. These heads are for shaft rockers, but will work with Magnum engines (!!) with the use of a particular Harland Sharp part number rocker...

Nitrous on a 318.....how much will it take

Thanks everyone. The Satellite ran 12.75 on a 150 shot, which exceeded my expectations radically. Didn't have any trouble at all getting it stopped. Had 275/60 Mt ET Pro radials on it and didn't have any problem hooking it. You can check it out at the 5:57 mark in this video. Had a blast on...

So, here's my nitrous 318 Drag Week adventure...

I bet that was pretty racecar. If you can find a link, I'd love to read it. Sounds like a stick car? Its all about the tires. The build on this satellite was SO not how I do things. No way I'd normally run a 3.23 gear, much less with a 28" tall tire. I typically special order my converters. 318...

So, here's my nitrous 318 Drag Week adventure...

He's going to need a slick or good drag radial to get there.

So, here's my nitrous 318 Drag Week adventure...

OK, your car should run 13s pretty easy. Here's the skinny on a magnum project I did years ago. Magnum Powered Dodge Dart My car was a bit lighter than yours, and had a good transbrake transmission. That said, it didn't have nitrous and went a 12.00 pretty much the first pass down the track...

So, here's my nitrous 318 Drag Week adventure...

Hey All: I know the car is a B-Body, but there are enough 318 threads on here that I thought it was relevant. I recently obtained this car as part of a 2 car deal, so I'm guessing I have less than 1K in it. Its a 1972 Plymouth Satellite 4 door sedan in blah blah beige. A truly nothing special...

Nitrous on a 318.....how much will it take

After posting this, I bought some old back issues of Hot Rod. February and March of 98. They did a story called Bottle Bomb where they put a bunch of nitrous to a 318 they pulled out of a yard. They blew it up after several 150 shot passes, but they were doing it clown shoes. projected nose...

Holy crap. I wouldn't have guessed that.

Nitrous on a 318.....how much will it take

OK, anyone ever sprayed 100 shot on a stock 318 shortblock? Its in a 72 Satellite if that means anything. Thanks! Steve

Scalded dogs run about 18mph. Do you have any track times or dyno numbers?

    best cylinder head

Oh god. I could see minitubs maybe, and its your car, but man, I wouldn't cut that thing up like that. I got a 26x8.5 hoosier slicks on my stock wheelhouse dart and went 1.3x 60' times with it. You don't really need that steamroller these days.

Ughhh I need help. Tuning issues.

First, check to make sure a vacuum cap hasn't popped off someplace. One of the little ones will make the car act like you say, but check the one that goes to the brake booster also. A vacuum leak anywhere could do it. Idle is spreading between 13.5 and 14.5 at 68* fahrenheit? I would err on...

Looking at a '72 Valiant...what do these cars weigh, or what does your combo weigh?

Hey All Found a solid but slightly overpriced valiant. Its a slant 6 car, bench seat, automatic, etc. Was thinking of using it as a performance buildup, but curious what they end up weighing when all is said and done. I was always really surprised at how heavy my all metal, all glass iron...

    magnum head help

The stock rockers and pushrods are compatible with the heads, and work pretty well. You should verify that the springs he sends will work for that cam, but it will probably be fine. I ran a cam with very similar lift/duration with the EQ heads. Having been there, done that, I would get the...

    Intake for a 340

I've got an Air Gap on my swinger. I am running a mild drop base air cleaner and it clears the hood, barely. The Victor 340 is slightly shortter, but you'll get more torque out of the RPM or Air Gap

Can I see some pics of electric fuel pump mounting?

Yeah, I really didn't want to run a sump. Been there done that. Every day I get a little more convinced that my car isn't the right car for what I want to do with it -LOL. I should get something where I'm more willing to be free with the sawzall.

Can I see some pics of electric fuel pump mounting?

Hey All: Thinking of ditching the mechanical pump. Would like to be able to run an electric without sumping the tank. What did you do? Any pics/ideas/etc appreciated. Thanks! Steve

    11 second street car?

I think the Magnum is a pretty affordable deal if you can find a good stock short block. I run that in mine, and it goes 11.90s in the heat. Note that affordable is relative. Only trick with these is that you have to gear in the 3.9x - 4.11 range to get the good numbers out of them. Some...

    low compression

Of course I think tis a good idea, that's what i've been doing with my magnum from day one. :) Do a little work, post it on the internet. I've actually PMd and emailed with some pretty cool people after posting about a particular milestone or problem. It makes my high 11 second timeslips...

    low compression

I'm not going to proclaim that I have a full understanding of what dude is talking about, but I get the feeling it goes something like this: See what you can do with the stock shortblock limitations. Allow re-ring and bearing replacement so people aren't scraping through junkpiles trying to...

Mopar clutch posi? Boom! Not impressed.

I go to No Limit Raceway (formerly US 41) In/near Morocco Indiana. www.nolimitraceway.com Its about 100 miles each way.

Mopar clutch posi? Boom! Not impressed.

After some new quarter mile passes, I am definitely going to say the clutch type hooks harder. The car came out of the water box with more grip using the clutch type, and I did get the car's best 60 ' time in those 10 passes. Still, its been a 1.59 with the cone type. Obviously, I have only...

Mopar clutch posi? Boom! Not impressed.

Do you mean me? The cone is fine. Its the clutch unit that shredded. Cone is back in the car now and working fine. The quarter mile track got rained out so I took the car to the local 1/8 mile. No stellar 60' times at that place, but I could hear both tires spinning, and it didn't give me...
