front wheel sits too far forward?

I saw this on a friends car and when I asked him about he said the retainer had the orientation written on it. Sure enough he showed me and it said something to that effect.

Yes, I believe it is a countersunk allen bolt.

Installing 3/4 inch spring relocating kit.

That's why they call me Longg one. :smilebox: All joking aside, you may be able to purchase just the bolt from Dr. Diff. It's worth giving him a call.

Installing 3/4 inch spring relocating kit.

Ditto, I don't remember if it was Dr. Diff or another retailer but the offset hanger did not require any hole drilling. The front bolt has a small head that you can wrench on the threaded end. I took a lot of pictures of the installation but I have no idea where I stored them. If I can find them...

Torsion bars don't seem to adjust

In regard to parts placement; as a general rule, odd numbered parts go on the left side (drivers side) and even numbered parts on the right side (passenger side).

Am I blind?? Sway bar bushings???

PST had a sway bar kit. Hardest bushing I've ever replaced. If mine weren't shot I would have never replaced them.

off set upper control arm bushings worth it???

I`ve got almost 4* on my Barracuda without the offset bushings but it is much easier to get that with the offset bushings. For the money it's a decent upgrade.

How to correctly clamp leaf springs to hookup!

Install the clamps as Commando66 described and if you employ an adjustable pinion snubber on the street, remember to allow enough room for your suspension to work. If you don't, the snubber bumper will pound against the floorpan. When you're ready for drag racing, set the snubber back up close...

    Installing Hub Bearings?

Just make sure when you pack your bearings that you get the grease completely through all of the bearing. Most auto part stores sell an inexpensive bearing packer that you simply fill with grease, place your bearing inside, and compress with a cap that forces grease into the bearing voids. Fill...

    Lower Control Arm Stiffening Plates

I`ve got them on my Barracuda. For the money, why not? I concur with 1968FormulaS340, I don`t see a downside to installing them.

    shock choice

I put a pair of those on my vert as it came with a heavy duty towing shock from the factory. I thought they worked quite well and they did help support the tired leaf springs.

    shock choice

That sounds like a smokin` deal. I bought a set of four via Amazon, from Just Suspension. Even with a discount for not having the shocks in stock I paid about $115.00 for all four.

There are other companies that sell tubular arms that are gussetted. That would be a safer choice in my opinion.

I don`t think you`ll have any problems, I believe they used the same steering gear from 72 to 79(?).

I don`t know if those threads are really like any standard thread but more of a create a thread as they go in. All of the control arms I`ve seen have had very little in threads.

Front end wonders newbie needs help

You can try installing a washer in the return line or put a larger diameter pulley on your pump. Both will help lessen the assist of the power steering. Make certain that your tie rod ends, ball joints, LCA bushings, and your idler/pitman arms are all in good shape. Have someone rock the...

Which power steering box to use??

I bought a rebuilt unit from Autozone for my `67 Barracuda and it was just as you described (stubborn on returning to straight). I`ve since sold the car and while it`s been over a year now the buyer said it still is tight but finally loosening up. As 68formulas was saying it`s a good thing...

440 ci in A body, will it ever handle.....

Large cubes make horsepower pretty easy and you`re practically there. I agree with the majority of the guys, the key is to knock off weight with some additional aluminum and fiberglass parts, then beef up your suspension with an anti-sway bar, good shocks, tires, boxed LCA`s, offset UCA...

    Front end rebuild

Mancini Racing has both the rubber offset bushings (about 30 bucks) and the stiffening plates (about 25 bucks). As far as rubber and poly, you should have no problem mixing the two materials. There was a time that some poly kits were coming with rubber LCA bushings because the poly pieces had a...

    What rearend do I have?

The 741 casting is the 8.75" rear end with the smallest pinion, but still plenty strong for mild builds. The downside of the 741 case (besides the smaller pinion) is the fact that there are few aftermarket performance gears for them.

    Spring Relocation Question

The shackles are offset so the rear spring hanger stays where it is. If you move the spring back 1" it may position the rear shackles too far backwards unless there is ample arc in the spring to counter it.
