    69 Valiant cyl4 not firing?

Since it is just the one cylinder not firing look for something in the path of the wire. Check the plug, make sure it's clean and gapped correctly with no cracks in the insulator. Check the wire for continuity as well as the cap (inside to outside) and the the rotor and or stator for...

carter fuel pump made in korea?

I bought some chicken treats for my dog the other day. When I looked at the package it said MADE IN CHINA. I thought, "isn`t this some sh*t, we can`t even make chicken anymore"? :D

If you had $2K to play with...

I agree with a lot of the guys here, sink the money into the cylinder head. Also bring up the compression as much as you can and still run on pump gas. 2K seems like a lot of money but it doesn`t go very far when you start figuring labor costs.

Blown Head Gasket or Cracked Block

If you`re getting water in one of the cylinders it should be apparent on the spark plug. A cylinder compressing water will clean the walls of the cylinder of most all of the carbon so your plug would be very clean in that particular cylinder.

    What the **** is this?

Cudaspaz made a good point, you could lose half your toolbox in a slant 6 and they would still run. :D

    oil pressure test question

I think you`re confusing your car with your water heater. No pressure relief valve here. If you`re unsure of what you`re looking at then get someone who knows their way around an engine.

    oil pressure test question

Top rear center of the engine block on both big block and small blocks. You should have no less than 10 lbs. of pressure per 1000 rpm of engine speed. Ideally look for around 25 lbs. of pressure at a hot idle.

    500 Hp Slant 6

I agree with most of the replies here, you`re going to have to force feed it to make that kind of power.....turbocharging would probably be your best bang for the buck.

    Timing?

Welcome to the site jmccabe. I would recommend buying a factory service manual for your year/model car and giving it a good read. They are a valuable source for most everything on your car. You can get them on Ebay or through companies that specialize in auto literature like these guys. HTH...

    motor oil

We`ve got a 2009 Corolla that takes 0-20w. In the interest of gas mileage some companies are going to tight tolerances and sewing machine oil. Lol!

    oil filler cap

You`re welcome Tadams. Well you`ve got good oil pressure and if the valve stem seals don`t come apart and get stuck in the oil pick-up screen then I say drive it. Those slant 6 engines are amazingly hardy engines, just keep an eye on the oil pressure. :thumblef:

    oil filler cap

Hello, no it`s not that bad but you`ll need something to pressurize the cylinder (to hold the valves up while the retainers and keepers are off) and a tool to compress the valve spring (to remove the retainers) but replacing the valve stem seals will only reduce the oil consumption some, if you...

    oil filler cap

If the car has sat that long it`s probably rings that are stuck but in all likelyhood the valve stem seals are shot too. Try a quart of Rislone in it and see if that doesn`t help some. You`ll probably have to replace the valve stem seals as well as most all the rubber parts on the engine.

    Woooooo Hoooooo

Every time I read about an A-body now there`s that familiar phrase,"started as a slant 6 car ,now a .....yaddi ,yaddi ,yadda". One day you guys that have original /6 cars will be few and far between, since they`re all being sacrificed for V8 conversion.
