    I cleaned my carb body with carb cleaner and rinsed it with water. Now it has that white powdery spots on it which I assume is light oxidation. What's the best way to clean that off?

    What he said. I forgot about that, it happened to me. It happened all the time on lower radiator hoses and that's why they now put a coil steel spring looking things in them now. If the fuel line is softened internally by fuel over the years it will suck in and block the flow. Try that first...

    Yeah, I have to agree it's a fuel delivery problem. Stock pump? A couple of ways to check it........hook up a fuel pressure gauge between the pump and the carb, of course you have to be able to read the gauge from behind the wheel when it quits and see if the pressure dropped off right before it...

    You could pressure test the pump but the easiest way is to carry a gallon with you and when it quits (at 1/4 tank) dump in the gallon and go to the nearest gas station and fill it up.     Could it have been in the bottom of the carb parts cleaner bucket off another carb? It's happen to me before.

    ah.haa...................That's the ticket. I think it's a baffle that goes vertically in grooves between the float and the needle assembly. If not I will continue to guess.

    I seem to remember a so kinda lockout that wouldn't let the secondarys open till the primarys are fully or almost fully open. Does the primarys open all the way with the pedal?

    Both are correct. The closer the attachment point is to the shaft the less travel length (on the cable) it will take to acheve full throttle.
