    Thinking out loud..

I would have thought he would have more drivetrain loss than that.

    Thinking out loud..

I wasn't sure if he meant 1500 fwhp or rwhp. If he's hunting 1500rwhp that's around 2k at the flywheel. I don't think anyone has gone that far with a gen III block. You're right about the heads though. 09+ 5.7 heads are cheap and flow around 400cfm.

    Thinking out loud..

For the cost of just the R3 block you can pick up a complete gen 3 hemi and build it to hold over 1k to the wheels. Swap it to carb if you don't want to deal with fuel injection It'll bolt up to the same transmission as the 360. The stock unported heads are better than most race heads and...

    70 duster getting some boost..

With great power comes great responsibility. Besides, I believe he said he would be racing at the track. It's easy to run lower boost on the street and just play with it like most of the other members here.

    Drivability blower vs turbos

8.1 will work but you're leaving a lot on the table. You will make more horsepower per lb of boost than you will per point of compression. An all out race car may run very low compression and a very high amount of boost because they are not worried about throttle response with everyday...

cooked it! What did I do wrong?

Your compression isn't an issue with such low boost and 92 octane. I've found 15lbs boost on a 9.2 compression motor to be the safe limit on 93 octane. It wouldn't hurt to be running a meth/water setup though since you could always get some questionable fuel. If you want more info on that PM...
