    What is this ?

Spliced into the cables with blue wire, the casing was the wrong way round on the volt reg, took the choke assist off, along with the 4 pin ballast and tidied it up a little. Thanks to those that posted on this thread with good advice, I would have struggled without you. Mike

    What is this ?

Couple of questions,If I use the two pin ballast, i'm assuming i will have to splice the blue ign wire into the double connector on the run side ? and the ign terminal on the volt reg has fld stamped on it ? My ECU is 4 pin.

    73 duster horn relay ?

My horn doesn't work, I've tested it across a battery and it works fine, i've cleaned where it grounds to the body, the violet wire on the 4 pin relay is hot. The car has a grant gt steering wheel, i pulled the horn push out and there's no wires, so i pull the steering wheel off and the wire...

    73 duster horn relay ?

Three pin plug is violet, black, green tracer ( hot ) single pin had a plug with two blue tracers. Looking at the relay with the separate pin at the bottom, the three pin has violet in the middle lower, green tracer top right, black top left and mine has the double blue at the very bottom.

    73 duster horn relay ?

The single pin on the relay had a plug with two blue wires and what appears to be the right black wire wasn't connected to anything. I can't find the twin blue wired plug on the wiring diagram i've got.

    73 duster horn relay ?

Thanks, why didn't I think of that, the reason I ask, is the relay has packed up on my 73 duster and I have two spares but they are three pin, so if I identify which pin is the buzzer, I will connect them individually onto the three pin and leave the buzzer off.

Dash lights not working on 73 Duster

The bezel the switch came out of looks like brand new but it's slightly different, there's a bit of rust on one of the fuses but it's not the tan or orange.

Dash lights not working on 73 Duster

Screwed the bezel back in, bolted the steering back up, noticed from underneath nearly every bulb and holder was missing out of the back of the dash, put new ones in, everything works but the dash lights. Car won't turn over, the battery is really low as i've had all the lights on, amongst...

Dash lights not working on 73 Duster

Took a reading both sides of the fuse ( tan and orange ) on the new switch, now getting 10 volts but dash lights still off, the light switch and the fuse box are both hanging down though, do they need to be grounded to the body to work ? i can't see a ground on the wiring diagram.

Dash lights not working on 73 Duster

The first switch showed no voltage at the tan side of the fuse with the lights on, i will test the other tomorrow, i had to pull the column in gear to get the bezel even partly out because the column didn't drop very far and i knew there was something i needed to remember which you pointed out.

Please understand i've only just bought the car and i'm trying to put someone elses problems right. Dash lights not working on 73 Duster

Just tried the other switch and still not working, lights are fine still but one of the rear lights is slightly brighter than the other, looking at the rear wiring on the drivers side, green twisted to a black and other wires going to a block connector on the other side which i can't find in the...

Dash lights not working on 73 Duster

Tail, horn and side lights didn't work, replaced fuse and faulty bulb in rear lights already, cured everything but the dash lights, i've taken the switch out and it looks fairly old but i managed to find another one that looks a lot better so i will try that, wiring looks ok to the switch...
